In Theory and it is simple math If your system wins 40% of the time and your wins are 3 times larger than your loses and you risk 1% of your capital per trade 1 trade a day should give you an average win of $300/day In Theory:D

I ussualy use limit orders. I try to anticipate where the market will move to and place an order there. I usually have a bracket order attached so that if I get filled and somehow end up not being able to manage my order the exits are on the brokers server.

Good for scalping I prefer 5 for 15 or better. I never risk more than 1% of my account. My system seem to generate 35% winners 40 % losers and 25% breakeven.
