Looking to team up to create a trading system for reliable personal investment

I don't think so> according to a recent report by BarclayHedge, the average hedge fund in its universe produced net annualized gains of 7.2% between 2017 and 2021 . The Top 50 hedge funds collectively returned annualized gains that were more than twice the industry’s average over the past five...

Bitcoin is a "ponzi by proxy"

A Ponzi scheme is a form of fraud that lures investors and pays profits to earlier investors with funds from more recent investors. A financial bubble is a situation where the prices of an asset or an asset class rise rapidly and excessively above their intrinsic or fundamental value. This is...

    My Story in Prop Trading

Right, that's the guy. Like I said the stories are similar and I like the way you referred to specific trades. David has an ET alias I couldn't find but I did ask if he could share some specifics and didn't get a reply.

    My Story in Prop Trading

Thank you for taking the time and effort to write it. You should make it into a book. Another poster on ET has a book out "Cash Rules: Reminiscences of a Day Trader" descibing a similar journey. In my opinion yours is better.

How do famous swing traders like Dan Zanger size up so fast?

By my math 1999 to 2020 is a shade longer than 2 years. :)

You have it right. But it depends on how the price is acting. I watched some Bigalow videos and like anything else it works some of the time. You kind of have to read the mood of the merket and the particular stock you are trading. Someone besides Bigalo had a 3/8 ma cross system. Works...

I also swing trade stocks. (Long only) I exit on a break of the trend line. (Let the winners run) The longer I hold a stock, the wider the gap between where I exit and the recent high. I will exit part of a position if the stock goes parabolic. (sell into strenght) I will re-enter a position...

    Tesla 2024

When I look at the long term chart I see TSLA has a problem making new highs. All time high was Oct 2021 It then made a series of lower highs until Aug/Sept of 2022 It then dropped like a rock until Jan 2023 Although it climbed steadily thru most of 2023 it never has returned to Sept 2022 levels.

Mark Minervini he is legit or not?

I have to agree that anyone can show how to trade on the left hand side of the chart. As for filtering for earnings beats don't you get the same results by filtering for volume spikes? Who is doing the buying after an earnings beat which causes a volume spike? I'm assumimg it is the...

But he does pretty good for someone not legit. Do you have anything to prove that he is not legit?

    Charlie Munger on Cryptocurrencies

So I did that and what I found is that his investment in silver had to do with th fact that it was undervalued and silver has significant industrial uses. BTC has no industial uses I'm aware of, and how could you tell it was undervalued? He eventually has to reveal what he is doing. (Form 13F)

    Charlie Munger on Cryptocurrencies

Right :) Thing with Warren is he usually buys when everyone else is selling. You'd have thought he'd have been scooping it up when it was 20k or lower if he was interested. I'm pretty sure he doesn't worry about missing out. The speculators are buying BTC so that they can get rich. Warren is...

    Charlie Munger on Cryptocurrencies

Ah now I see where you are coming from. 1 billion is substancial to me also but probably not to Warren. It's all in how you interpret what you read. When someone says that BRK has a substantial holdings I read a substantial part of their portfolio. What you wrote gave me the impression that BRK...

    Charlie Munger on Cryptocurrencies

:rolleyes:Now you are comparing BRK to El Salvador. Like you said it's a almost billion dollar bank that is dealing in the stuff. They are guys selling the shovels to the gold miners. They make money being the middle man. At any rate it is not a substantial part of BRK's portfolio. If...

Mark Minervini he is legit or not?

It's pretty much a given that a long only trader needs a bull market to make money. What makes them wizards is the ability to sit on their hands when the market isn't moving in their favor, along with being able to make a lot of money during the bull runs.

    Charlie Munger on Cryptocurrencies

LOL; You said substantial, Nubank is less than 1 billion investment in a 700 billion portfolio. It's an online bank. It makes its money making loans and providing banking services.
