    Futures newbie, margin question

That's the value of the contract - not the required margin. Full margin for ES is about $4K. Daytrading margins exist, depending on your broker.

    $4.90 round Turn w/ J-Trader!

I wonder why thier account funding instructions say to wire the money to a RCG (Rosentall Collins group) account - yet on their website they say they clear through Goldenberg, Hehmeyer & Co..

    e-signal SLOW charts

I guess what I'm seeing are slight differences in the ticks - maybe one server has more than another - or different ones. Which I guess really bring me to a question I've had for a while - and this really isn't an Esignal only question - but with everyone starting to provide the ability to...

    e-signal SLOW charts

I have a question not particularly related to this thread - but to using the #F function. I've noticed in the past that if I use ES#F, I get inconsistent historical data (tick based) - I assume slightly different depending on what server I've connected to. If I use ES Z2 (for example), it is...

    Yet another easy 5 pts

LOL. If it's so easy, why are you only trading 2 contracts?

    MurreyMath

Yes, I'm talking about the lines that you are describing.
  12. Q

    MurreyMath

Maybe you answered my question and I just didn't understand it - how do you know what to do when prices reach these lines?
  13. Q

    MurreyMath

You say "trade using this square" or "trade using these lines". Trade how? I've got all these lines on a chart. The price hits one of those lines, now what? Long? Short? It's nice to see that the price reversed on a line after the fact - but in real time how do I know that's whats...

dual monitor; color way off on one?

I've had this same problem - I've found it has to do the the "DVI-Analog" conversion adapter. Most of them do not fit really well, and just jiggling the connection to the card will make the screen to funny things.

Sorry for the thread drift - but I thought this was priceless - click on the link to the amazon entry for the book - you will see that: "Customers who shopped for this item also wear: Clean Underwear from Amazon's Target Store"

    Lowest Intraday Margins for emini's

What do you suggest the min daytrading margin for ES be? Why would 50% of full margin be okay, but not say 30%, or 25% or even lower?

%$#%! starts SLM as HOLD- CNBC

I'm sure it was whatever broker it was that stopped letting their analysts talk to the media last week - can't remember which broker that was though.

1000 QQQ SSF trading is better than NQ.

Why do you continue to ignore the tax advantage of NQ vs. the SSF? That more than takes care of the difference in commissions - not to mention the savings in paperwork.

price moving too fast for time

GG - Stop thinking so much! Can't believe I had to be the first one to say that. :D
  20. Q

    sweeping out profits

Yes, you did miss something. I didn't suggest cash in his mattress if terrorists nuke NY. I suggested having your money somewhere other than your futures trading account if, for some reason, there was an event that caused a position to go against you dramatically. I agree that having cash...
