I think the best way to trade the Dax is via options, rather than outright long or short on the ftrs. But then again I'm a very poor index trader.

I have traded options a few times, but it's not been my main trading vehicle. My question is... if I want to take a position in an index like the Dax, and I want to trade an option rather than take a long or short position in the index futures so that: a) I limit my risk to the premium paid...

All this talk of trading against or with the trend... But WHICH trend ? The very long term trend may be up, the intermediate trend down or sideways and the short term likewise. It is not as simple as some seem to think.
