LOL, where do you get your twisted information from? Whitetail Deer populations are at a three hundred year high in the United States. Diseases and automobiles kill far more deer than hunters. It is widely known that US deer are in fact overpopulated in areas like the NorthEast US. State...

Have you noticed the price of ammo lately?

I grew up in the South and was given a .22 rifle for Christmas by my parents when I was 12 years old. Rite of passage. And with that rifle came responsibility. Of course, my Father kept the ammo under lock and key but owning that rifle was a serious matter and it bestowed an expectation of...

Why some people say that once rates hit 0%, the central bank starts to "push on a string"

My very strong suspicion is that the COVID virus and the attendant uncertainty has regulated consumer spending much more than consumer prices or interest rates. I think the Fed data (especially the Board commentary reflected in the meeting minutes) bears that out.

China making progress to open bond market to foreign investors

Many countries do peg their currency to the US Dollar. But by not allowing their currency to be internationally traded and truly "floated" on the currency markets they lose any chance at being a legitimate reserve status currency. In other words, why not just hold US Dollars? Japan, the US...

Why some people say that once rates hit 0%, the central bank starts to "push on a string"

I'm not so sure that money supply means much to interest rate traders these days. And really hasn't since the 80's. Just my own observation, YMMV.

The top 20 US Utilities have close to a Trillion Dollar market cap so yeah, $319M is really small potatoes in that space.

At least half of the futures Calendar Spreads are Illiquid??

Here’s the thing about intra market spreads like STIRS - they are dirt cheap to margin overnight. For example, a 1-2-1 Butterfly is about $375. It makes no sense - NONE, to day trade them. It is not uncommon for me to take 15 to 30 full $25 tics out of a GE position - but I am swing trading...

Trump's got the worst stock market in my life time

Yeah this idea for a thread is really off in the weeds. Trump aside - this market has been great for traders. And if you held US stocks from November 2016 until now - you've killed. So this premise is wacked.
