Department of Justice: Chris Christie spent big on hotels

Over a period of two years the guy was $2k over budget and during that same period spent $798 that was deemed excessive. That means he was ripping off taxpayers at a rate of over four dollars per day. Four dollars per day! I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!

That's what happens when amateurs compete against professionals.

Who just launched an ICBM 35 miles from SoCal coast?

I live a couple of blocks from the ocean in Southern California and my daughters and I could see the contrail quite clearly through our telescope. We've seen many missle tests and this one was a medium/narrow contrail relative to most that we've seen (particularly from Vandenberg). There were...

Netanyahu warns Israel will not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon

This screaming match has been going on forever. Next, Iran will threaten to wipe Israel off the map. Neither side is going to do anything except blow hot air.

    What just happened....Speaks for Itself...

Both parties have their agendas and act accordingly. When the Bush administration tried to impose tighter lending regulations, Barney Frank and the Democrats killed it. Now the Republicans play the same game. My point is that both parties are corrupt to the bone. Choosing between Democrats and...

Interesting short film about the leftist vision of "equality" and life in 2081...

I haven't seen the film yet, but apparently it's based on Kurt Vonnegut's short story "Harrison Bergeron" which was one of his very best. I remember reading it in college. I'm looking forward to seeing the film.

    What just happened....Speaks for Itself...

I'm no fan of George Bush, but I can't blame him for the economic mess. The collapse of the US economy began in 1999 when Congress passed (overwhelmingly by Democrats and Republicans) the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act that had, since 1933, separated legitimate banking activities from risky...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

An FTT doesn't stand a chance... today. Two years from now could be an entirely different story. We need to remain vigilant.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

They're at it again... not that it's going anywhere just yet, but this FTT has turned into the villain that just won't die. Soros and Summers recommend FTT http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-05/soros-panel-draft-says-bank-taxes-c02-auctions-can-fund-climate-aid.html

David Stockman, who engineered Reagan tax cuts, thinks taxes are not high enough

It doesn't matter how much you tax the rich because the incompetent, corrupt, unaccountable politicians will misappropriate the funds. My home state of California is a perfect example. Massive tax increases (taxes growing at twice the rate of economic growth) over the last 20 years...

David Stockman, who engineered Reagan tax cuts, thinks taxes are not high enough

There was a time when I would have agreed with you. Here in California taxes have been steadily increasing for over 20 years. We now pay 9+% sales tax, 10% income taxes, the highest gas taxes in the country, and high per-capita property taxes because of the high real estate values. Business...

What Republican Congress? The Democrats have controlled Congress since 2006.

Terror scare right before the elections.

What does "Furor" Bush mean? Do you mean Führer? If so, calling someone a Nazi really doesn't mean anything anymore. Everyone calls everybody Nazis. Try and come up wth something new -- perhaps something you know how to spell.

Terror scare right before the elections.

Nobody pays attention to "terror scares" anymore. If there's a real event (a car packed with explosives, a guy with a bomb in his shorts, etc.), that's the only thing that gets peoples' attention these day. And if there's an actual explosion, that will scare the hell out of people. But "terror...

A poll for daytraders … do you trade the Opening Gap?

About 35% of the time (7-8 days a month) I find a high-probability setup for the ES GAP.

    Hi, I'm a Tea-Partier

I've been to a couple of tea party meetings just to see what they were really like. The Tea Party is concerned about reducing the deficit, out-of-control spending, etc. The media wants everyone to think that the Tea Party is the KKK without the robes. Anyone who's actually been to a meeting...

King Tut’s DNA is a 99.6 percent match with Western European Y Chromosomes?

We share 96% of our DNA with chimpanzees. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/08/0831_050831_chimp_genes.html Therefore all chimps are from Europe (Probably Ireland. Those guys are real party animals).

Tightening Senate races give pause to upbeat GOP

It's statistically unlikely that the GOP will take control of the Senate, even under the best of circumstances. RealClearPolitics.com puts it at about 52-48 in favor of the Dems. However, Republicans are likely to pick up 45-55 seats in the House, enough to give them control.

    Sowell: The Multicultural Cult

You're right. A couple of years ago Soros said that Israel was more responsible for the problems of the Middle East than the Palestinians because Isreal had greater power and therefore greater responsibility.
