Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Never know til you try. But if the stocks are illiquid, your opening order will most likely affect what price the stock opens at. Tell us how you fare and good luck.

    Tired of reading

Worst book ever written in terms of clarity and ease of reading. Tried reading it, could never even come close to finishing it. Who proofread this beast?

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Call me cynical but I think if you had put opening sell orders into AMEX for IHM at 9.68, 9.67, and 9.66, the specialist would have opened it at 9.65.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

Don't worry, you didn't miss out on your fill. No way AMEX would have filled you there anyway.

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

So I have always thought that a regular limit order sent to NYSE before 9:30am EST will not participate in the opening print, but will go live after the opening print has been printed. I have always thought in order to capture the opening print you have to specify it as an OPG order. Is this...

IB commissions for low priced stocks

Yes. For me, I stick with IB for everything as I trust the platform and the quality of execution. Is there any direct-access firm that has a fixed price for limit orders?

Regular hours limit orders on IB that will participate in the opening cross

How about you send an OPG limit order in to (hopefully) capture the specialist opening print - you can route it to SMART or directly to NYSE or AMEX. Then if you don't get filled, at that point in time put in a regular SMART limit order. Is this not what you want? Or do you want total...

IB commissions for low priced stocks

Anyplace that gives you a fixed price for a limit order, unlimited shares. For example, TD Ameritrade: http://www.tdameritrade.com/pricing.html The breakeven commission point (not including SEC fees) would be about $5,000 worth of stock traded. At IB: $5,000 * 0.002 = $10 So...

I can Steal your Edge, I am serious

I wouldn't play SF II, MK II, nor Tekken anymore - your secret moves will be found out remotely by Guile_yes. Then you'll be in the arcade kicking butt until some stranger comes in and he anticipates your every move. You won't know what happened til its too late.

    Stuff I've wondered about

I was just saying that if you were thinking of trading ES, trade SPY in small amounts til you start making money. This way you will lose slower while learning. When you feel more confident, upgrade to ES as it is more cost-efficient. I find that I trade individual stocks better than...

    Stuff I've wondered about

If you do not want to elect mark-to-market accounting (so you can avoid thinking about wash-sale ramifications), then one way of avoiding wash sale rule is to not trade any security you traded before Dec 1st of that trading year. Trade different securities for the month of December, then stop...
