Arrest Over Software Illuminates Wall St. Secret

So much for a "free" country! 1 call from Goldman assholes & the FBI has your ass in jail. I think Mr. Aleynikov would have more freedom in Russia. US is pretentious "freedom". The poor guys fight in Iraq & Afghanistan for the freedom of those at Goldman Sachs, otherwise they go to jail.

Does being a professional apply to people not in the States

Just completely IGNORE that "professional/unprofessional" BS. Actually, QuoteCenter itself is no longer a "professional" platform because it's already several years old with no recent updates. One of these days, it'll probably stop working. It's a cheap way to get foreign data. It's an...

    still using Tradestation 2000i ?

The 1st thing to ask would be, why are you so "stuck" on ts2ki? Why not go to their new internet platform which has data on demand, tradestation.com? What's the specific reason?

    still using Tradestation 2000i ?

Win98? WTF? I have several WinXp/Vista pc's with TS2000i working 'round the clock. No problem. Why not just go with the new tradestation brokerage? Much easier for a beginner.

Major U.S. pension funds recoup less than 1/2 of 55bln invested in private equity

Yup, when is the public going to realize most of these pension plans are really nothing but damn good cushy jobs for the incompetent bastards running them?

is bid-ask spread for equities the same from one broker to another?

Not if you're dealing with real/honest brokerages, otherwise take your money & run. You might find some latency/delay in data from one broker compared to another but that's rare otherwise it should all be the same.

is bid-ask spread for equities the same from one broker to another?

The easiest way would be to look at the bid-ask on the SPY etf. It's what, .01 most of the time? You can also do the actual calculations involving all 500 stocks. I'm sure it'll end up being 1-3 cents most of the time. Keep in mind the first 5 min it'll be much wider than the rest of the day...

Swiss bend down and take it from the U.S.

Seems like 1 lesson for anybody stashing dough in foreign bank acct, at least be sure bank doesn't have ANY US operations. UBS is not a good choice in that regard.

So far, it still looks like heavy short-covering. We'll know better in a day or 2.

China's CIC to buy U.S. mortgages

Maybe they'll be like Vito. He doesn't let you foreclose otherwise you end up with a few broken bones.

What if consumers do not want to borrow anymore?

A nation that only consumes & doesn't save is a nation of losers. They'll be wiped out in no time.

57% don't see stimulus working, poll says

How can the 'stimulus' work is all it does is give joe six pack more cash to buy more Chinese stuff? Yeah, the stimulus works alright, to help the Chinese economy!

Asian Markets Drop Amid Worries About U.S. Consumer

The thing is that retail sales don't even help US economy much. I think it contributes to its demise as most consumer retail is Chinese imports.

    advise on saudi market PLS.

Hate to break it to you but all this technical analysis'accumulation-distribution' is mostly bull shit. It only works in hindsight, unless you're a market maker & can definitely see order flow & can confirm it. For the public at large, it's nearly impossible to determine if something in the...

    Greens shoots? Not around here

Pretty soon US will be outsourcing brick making to Pakistan (creates too much pollution here) & prisons will be outsourced to China (they're more efficient there since they have shorter lifespan). Hail Bernanke & Geithner!

    Real Estate Investing

Well, with all due respect to OldTrader, there are rarely properties for sale that pay for themselves as he says. Once in a while you find something, every few years, at the "perfect time" you'll get such an opportunity, but rarely. For example, in California, most 3bd/2ba houses still rent for...
