    SMB Capital New York

I am not an Ivy-leaguer or a Physics doc. so I have never had the chance to work for a true backed firm but the experience I had with them at the bank I used to work for was not too good. They would definitely spend a lot of hours at work analysing and looking at every possible thing that could...

Does anyone know of any prop firm that uses IB?

Maverick Trading does use IB has their trading platform. They are not a typical prop firm as they don't do stocks (only options) and don't give a rat's ass how many shares you churn in a month

ThinkOrSwim's Probability OTM, ITM, of Touching Calculator

Delta is a shortcut most traders will use but I wouldnt hang my hat on just that! If it were so good you wonder why they would bother calculating the VIX...

ThinkOrSwim's Probability OTM, ITM, of Touching Calculator

The calculations are based on implied volatility so what happened 6 months ago doesn't matter. Implied volatility reflects the view of option market makers of what might happen to the stock before said option expiry... Of course they can be wrong + it is well documented that extreme 2 or 3...

    Iron Butterfly

    Historical greeks

yes something like that... I am no expert on the software so I am not sure if you can extract data from it or not but I dont think so...

    Historical greeks

I know the optionnet software has this info in 5 minutes increment for the last 3 years but its not a database per-se... You might be able to get raw data if you talk to them directly... I hope this helps a bit

    Option Strat Software Thread

By far the best one I have used is optionnet explorer... It doesnt suggest strategies though. Trademonster's platform is quite nice also but too pricy... IB sucks ass but has the best rates. I figure you cant get everything... So to resume I use optionnet to create and manage the positions...

    Maverick Trading, Any Experiences?

I also am trading with them... Pro's: they really dont put pressure on you for volume, they are fine if you trade other accounts on the side or if you have another full time job. Their levels are very clear, you know exactly what you need to achieve to go up a level. Profit splits...

At what point does a delta neutral postion unbalance ?

Delta doesnt change at a constant rate... The key here is gamma, it also isnt fixed so its a real hassle. I have not seen an easy way to predict delta change so far. IMO you are fighting an uphill battle...

    Raw Talent for Prop Firms

Sorry to state the obvious but the first call has to be to Jamie Dimon at the ol' JP Morgan: He's been having issues recently at his trading unit and I'm sure he would love to have a new right-hand man... As for the material concers you might have, I'm sure they could package something worthy...

Calculating the Put/Call Ratio for Delta Neutral ?

I think you should be more specific in what you are trying to acheive... There are many option strategies that are delta neutral... Also who says you need to use both call and puts, you could use just 1 of the 2, again depending on your purpose... Also you can be delta neutral and long vol (like...

Advisable to do a calendar spread with AAPL?

I tend to agree with the last comments... A calendar is not a bullish play... Its good when volatility is low and price high. What the OP was looking at is def a buy-write with options. I also like flies as some have mentioned, specifically with puts, if established for a net credit. I like them...

    List of Montreal Props?

I have no doubts, banks are not interested in good grounded common sense or experience, they are interested in how many letters you have after your name. Then again they have clients that are expecting some "quantifiable professionalism". When I worked for a big bank, I could not believe how...

    List of Montreal Props?

From what I have seen, doesn't mean a whole lot because they want to "mold" you the way they want. Experience is never going to hurt of course but I don't know exactly to what extend it does help.

    List of Montreal Props?

Let me add a few words about prop trading for a canadian bank: yes it does exist - although, has someone mentioned, you never hear about it as banks keep this stuff very close to the vest. A typical deal for a trader at the bank I used to work for was 75K base salary, buying power of 10...

    List of Montreal Props?
