Vista x64 or XP Pro 32bit?

If you have 4G of ram, if your software is all vista friendly, and you don't care then you should probably use vista 64. It will be prettier and the performance with 4G of ram and SP2 won't be worse in any sense that you'll notice. I use XP but if you don't care then Vista SP2 would be fine...

Who at ET trades for a living?

Yes. No to OPM. Have been asked but I can only imagine I'd do it to help out family as I have enough money of my own not to need someone elses. For me trading has created freedom and OPM would restrict that.

The Disciplined Trader vs Trading in the Zone

IMO they have a different feel. I've read both several times and always felt that DT did a better job of "what goes wrong" and TitZ of "what to do." If I had to stick to one I'd go with TitZ but I don't think you should limit yourself.

God bless IB, but you won't get rich with IB

Most of the suggestions on this page are a bit simplistic --- things happen for different reasons in different places. Data lag will happen where the congestion is occurring. So the most likely point for congestion in fast market situations isn't the internet (congestion there is more likely...

God bless IB, but you won't get rich with IB

Dman, You are correct that this months activities proved that "this time" IB's suspension of intraday margins was unnecessary. But. That is the trap that the bankers (feel free to substitute overpayed wankers) fell into with their subprime, alt a, and leverage games. Just because the...

    Life without anti-virus ?

I hesitate to add another opinion. But I will. The op is talking about multiple different problems and may not have had a virus problem. Heres my take: 1. You need to be able to recover quickly whatever causes the fault. So some approach to copying your disk image and keeping a...

**warning: Internet Explorer Has A Flaw - Hackers Can Steal Your Ib Password

If you add "remove it permanently" (RIP) you can get rid of whole sections of web pages as well. I use that to remove those areas where conventional ads are not present (sponsor lists for examples).
