    Firefox vs. Chrome

Yeah, especially if you turn off the reporting google isn't such a spy any more. I like it as my backup to firefox now (still wouldnt do without adblock plus, remove it permanently, and tiny menu). If privacy is a concern google "Iron Browser" ... its a compilation of the google browser...

    Vista or XP ?

Regarding the SSDs. 1. You really should do the tweaks. XP was built for the hardware available at that time. Correct alignment of the partition can make a big difference as it prevents XP writing to two blocks every time it wants to write small blocks. 2. Small block writes are...

    Vista or XP ?

Superspeed lets you specify a persistent image (saved to disk on shut down). As well as that I have a backup batch file which backs the permanent stuff to e: and also clears the temp directories while at it. I used to have that run every hour but power failures here are a once every few...

    Vista or XP ?

If you take that approach you will never run vista gnome. You'll run xp now (still the best) and windows 7 in future (vista fixed up). You'll also be running win7 64bit because the drivers will finally have caught up so you might as well get the 10-20% performance benefit and all the memory...

    Firefox vs. Chrome

The adblocks for chrome don't do it "properly" and the guys at adblock have said they will keep supporting ff but won't be doing chrome. They don't seem fond of google. The beautiful thing about firefox with adblock is how cosmetically perfectly its removed. I like remove-it-permanently too...

    ShadowTrader Weekly Video

Nice summary AMT4SWA. I trade trendy moves below your timeframes but find an appreciation of the auction market, how its moving, and where its likely to go or stop adds a great deal to my perception.

IB stand alone or browser based?

Possibly they are the same. But browser based adds something else to your communications/processing path so logically is slower. I'd only use bb if I absolutely needed the latest version.

    IB's Stubborn Defendants

You have to be new at this. These are huge whinges just because you're whinging about something so minor. Sure its worth pointing it out to IB .. particularly the last posters point about catching half of the problem but missing one point. But lets be realistic about how complex tws is...

OPPORTUNITYISNOWHERE. OPPORTUNITY IS NOW HERE ! vs OPPORTUNITY IS NO WHERE !U choose

This is actually total BS. The choices are determined by visual processing functions and the way the letters are parsed not by cognitive bias.

    IB's Stubborn Defendants

OK. Got a reply. Wow. The IB staffer thinks that the issue is confusion about orders (note that he did not use the words below). 1. You can do what I and most people do which is move stoplimit orders or move the stop and limit independently as long as the stop has not been triggered...

    IB's Stubborn Defendants

Investwthme, I am curious about your assertion that we can't move stop limit orders because I do it almost every day (and I change the limit position within the stop limit). It seems to happen within TWS (although I usually submit with SierraChart). I do this for the Aussie SPI (SNFE)...

    IB's Stubborn Defendants

Just a note on one point raised by n. He claimed that IB don't care about you. In some sense that is correct. If you are an anonymous user of any large "efficiency orientated" (vs consultancy/handholding/superservice orientated organizations) then they don't really 'care' about any one...

    California....what happened?

That's a big picture of "what's wrong" with a lot of places. The small picture is that you can only spend so long spending more than you earn - taxes are too low when a state runs out of money (for whatever reason).

Why I stole an old movie from library, despite being upper middle class

Theft and corruption don't have to be morally bad to be bad. (And stealing from a library because you are a little frustrated is an indication of weak morals and poor impulse control - not good for a trader). Theft and corruption weaken a societies ability to generate wealth. They create...

    Latest TWS standalone , FARKED?

AMT4SWA = A Moron Talking Sh.t Wunce Again .... misspelling intended; looks like dunce :)

    IB TWS too complex

Surprised that one doesn't consider physics to be fine arts. But you've just proved one can pass maths physics there without being able to manage one's computing environment. Such is life - no wonder the Chinese were doing so well. But onto the question. I use the chart trade mode manually...

    IB TWS too complex

LOL ... fine arts degrees and the ability to master ones computer have a negative correlation. TWS is fine as backup or low speed entry. All works as advertised. Personally I prefer Sierra Chart for order entry and management but did spend the 20 minutes required to master the finer...

ET is contraian indicator; doom & gloom means we're on the verge of economic expansio

The interesting thing is that ET is not giving a clear read at present. There doesn't seem to be an overwhelming view in either direction.

There are to total idiots on ET at the moment (well, two who stand out), talknet and sushi. Are they the same person? Who were they in their prior nicks?
