Delta Reveals Only 13 Passengers Used NRA Discount Which Cost Airline $40 Million Tax Break

Whatever the economic ramifications are, why aren't conservatives incensed that a governmental legislative body is explicitly punishing a company for exercising it's free speech?

Right method to off-load NFLX stock options

It makes no sense to exercise before you want to sell. Your two practical options are to hold the options or to exercise and sell. You can collar it but that’s only practical if you have many millions worth of stock and a private bank will fund you.

Right method to off-load NFLX stock options

I modeled some approximation out and I see only $1-2 of time value. If you are to hedge, you probably should just short the stock. If you are going to short the stock, you should only do so if it makes sense from a tax perspective. My suggestion is to exercise and sell some portion of it. It's...

Right method to off-load NFLX stock options

I would either sell or not. Hedging is likely going to cost you and frustrate you.

Is a Bloomberg/Reuters terminal still worth it now that social medias exist?

Yes. Still a 2 year contract with a 50% out clause.

Is a Bloomberg/Reuters terminal still worth it now that social medias exist?

My cost is approx. 2100/month + market data which is another 215/month. There is no tiered service. You get the professional and then you can subscribe to specific data if you want it but the base package is 99% complete.

Is a Bloomberg/Reuters terminal still worth it now that social medias exist?

They will sell to retail. I have my own terminal. It’s very valuable for me because it allows me to leverage my time. With my day job, I couldn’t trade at all if I didn’t have a system like a Bloomberg terminal.

WOW, Proshares reducing leverage on two volatility funds

Perhaps that’s where our difference of opinion rests. I (and the OCC in the US) look at the deliverable being consistent with the underlying. Europe (and you) want to see something more fair volatility wise.

WOW, Proshares reducing leverage on two volatility funds

I would think the prospectus would be open ended enough to allow them to change the investment strategy of the etf. The only change is that the implied volatility should get cut substantially. That’s no different than a company engaged in a cash takeover and the volatile go to single digits...

    Option selling for premium

credit spreads aren't inherently better than naked short options. It depends on your view. if you believe that a stock could selloff so much that you need to buy a deep OTM option, why would sell a less deep OTM option in the first place?

MIT study shows how much driving for Uber or Lyft sucks

First the income is effectively tax free. (As you spend 30cents a mile but get to deduct 59 cents per mile). Second a lot of the fixed cost is socialized with the drivers personal life (they were already going to own and insure the car). The alternative: taxis are far worse. Fees are also...

    Are Markit and Bloomberg Competitors?

For an institution, market data is incredibly cheap considering the value it can create in the right hands. That’s why Bloomberg can charge 30k per terminal and selling 100s of thousands of them.
