Who would be your dream mentor?

Dude, his time machine is the sh*t. 20 inch rims, huge subwoofers in the back. PM him, maybe he'll let you ride in it sometime soon :D

    Traders who specialize in Shorting

Once again Coolweb has to be a jerk. Nononsence offered you good advice, there is no reason to "specialize" in one side of the market. Thats plain stupid. And being in cash during a bear market is dumb too. Both sides of the market offer great possibilities. The key is switching gears when...

Is it easier to trade the NYSE than the Nasdaq?

There are some NYSE stocks that consistently f*ck you on your fills. ACI alone has probably taken an extra $1500 from me this month alone on terrible market fills. But, I have probably made $5000+ on him this month so you take the good with the bad.

Which traders make the most, and how to become one

You are definitely right with your post here. Most traders wont become billionaires through trading, but being a good trader can help you accumulate a great deal of money (you obviously have to be very good) to then use for investments or other ventures in hopes of compounding. Also, yes you...

Which traders make the most, and how to become one

Actually, there are very very few careers which pay better than a trader. Now that I think about it, there really are none. I read that the top 10 hedge fund managers make about 260 million a year. No other profession is coming close to that figure. So, all in all, the upside is tremendous...

Which traders make the most, and how to become one

Your first post asks which traders make the most salary. No, it definitely doesnt hurt to do research.

Which traders make the most, and how to become one

The traders that make the most money are the ones who are the best at trading. If you are looking for a salary, trading may not be for you. If you want to spend the next year or two making no money, but after that possibly making a whole lot of money, then try joining a prop firm.

    Time to profitability

No one truly knows what the price of the stock should be, we are all speculating. Maybe the other trader lost out on more potential profits but thats not really what zero sum means. If he made a profit, even one penny, and then sells it to you and you make 5 pts, you both were technically...

    Time to profitability

Zero sum assumes 1 loses and 1 wins. But in equties, you could have bought shares from someone who made a gain themselves and you may sell shares to someone else at a higher price and then may do the same etc etc. In futures, the game is zero sum, since 1 of you will be right and the other wrong.

The treacherous path to $200k a year

100% confidence or 100% confirmation cant exist, there are too many variables and too many uncertainties. All you can really hope for is taking the high probability setups and hopefully they follow through. Over time, taking those high probability setups will win more times than not. Its...

    Holding Positions All Day!

As far as I am concerned, we can all be better traders and all learn something new from each other to apply to our own styles. I am pretty good at quick scalping the market, but know I need to work on learning to hold positions for the bigger moves. It will come with time...hopefully :D

    Holding Positions All Day!

Well, if you can catch points everyday, then that is very good. I prefer to hit singles and doubles all day everyday with the occasional longball. I think my biggest cents trade this month is only 60 cents on one trade but I am up 15k for the month w/ 9 days to go so I guess singles and doubles...

    Random OR Non-random Walk?

Definitely not random. If it were, why would there be any incentive to trade the market? It would be like flipping a coin. Order within chaos :D
