Steve, do you trade with an eye on the news? My experience have basically led me to block all noise and that includes news except maybe something huge like US going to War with China. I got my charts and tech analysis on my screen and that's all I care to know on a day to day basis.

pay no mind to the guys who seem to think they're so much better than you because they "know". Self-esteem issues. At any rate, try looking at EUR or JPY futures and like one of the other guys said, ER2.... it's a pain in the ass though. It's all over the place.

Futures aren't THAT risky. As long as you set a max points for a downside, I think you have almost equal chance of going broke with futures as with stocks.

I was one of the people who believed GOOG will hit $400 but not this quick and certainly not $500 by year's end. I think Yahoo and Google's price will have to converge a little bit. I see GOOG around $380 by year's end.

Quite happy but sold my puts on Google a tad too early.. should have held on to it.

there aren't any options for sale for February or am I missing something? The next one I see is March.

i know. Besides, I'm a daytrader anyways. If GOOG drops quick and I can take a quick cash, I'm not gonna hold until 370 :) so much money to be made, so much decisions to make....

we all think differently that's why this market is interesting - otherwise, GOOG will be worth $2000.00 a share right now if we all bought. Check back on this thread in a few months.

I bought puts for June 06 @ 430 strike. I think market will start to weaken around late december to late january. Looking to sell puts when GOOG hits 370

Not too happy about my performance today. Was up big but lost 2/3 of my gain in about 10 minutes.

I think the saying "I've lost enough today, I call it quits" is better than "I've made enough today..." Why would you put a limit to how much money you make?

I think putting a target per day for profit is a bad idea. You'll hang on to losers and try to justify to yourself that it will come back up OR cut short a winner because it has hit your target. Play it by ear. I think paper trading is only about 10% helpful as most newbie may do well...

I think this rally will continue until end of the year then maybe sideways in January. Not to say money can't be made taking the short position. I shorted YM before the close so we'll see how that goes when trading resumes. Tight stops as always.

Whatever the indicator says, don't believe in it too much. Wait at least for evidence that market is starting to correct. Picking the top would be dumb at this point. The market just got going these past couple of weeks.
