Anyone here trade US markets from Asia?

I'm thinking about moving to Singapore, HK, or the Philippines next year. Maybe live there for a couple of years. I'm curious to find out if anyone here trade the US market using US-based brokers and how their experience is. At any rate, does anyone know if the increased lag affects their...

    I messed up....

It took me about 4 business days to transfer all my stocks from Ameritrade to IB. BUT, when I wired money out from my Ameritrade to IB, it happened on the same day which was the fastest wire transaction I've seen. I requested wire at 10am EST and the money was in my IB account by 4pm EST.

    I messed up....

Take your business elsewhere when you're done with all these restrictions. Harris Direct screwed my friend a few months back by hiding fees from him when he first signed up. I don't think those guys know how to run a business without screwing anyone. Try Interactive Brokers or Ameritrade...

    Trader P/L 2005

This cold and snowy day is making me feel very lazy. Traded for 2 hours only. Futures: + $237.50 No realized PnL for stocks - decided to hold on to my gains on INTC and SHLD. May have more to go next week.

The treacherous path to $200k a year

Don't worry, I don't think I can compete with your Fantasy Stock Market performance. by the way, I never said arrogant people never succeed. It's that people that are arrogant as you must be compensating for something really really lacking.

The treacherous path to $200k a year

someone who makes REAL money don't usually waste their time bragging about how good they are day in and day out. Just a thought. You don't sound like someone who's confident but more like someone who needs to give himself assurance every single day just to get by.

Don't worry about coolweb. While I don't have anything against him, he seems to be the most hated person in the forum next to rubberbird. Although I find coolweb's to be significantly more conceited. To each his own. If we all make money the same way, there won't be any money to be made...

you can condition your mind all you want with paper trading but the real conditioning would be when you actually trade with your own money. BUT - I'm not stating that is a true statement for all people. That's my take on things and obviously, people will disagree. At any rate, let us know...

Jmow, good luck to you. Post your P&L on the discussion "Traders P&L" if you would like... don't worry, poeple won't talk bad about your results. It's a supportive discussion :) But I would agree with the previous post - paper trading is nowhere near real money. No emotions in paper trading...

Would you Trade a System that failed a backtest ?

I've backtested my system on metastock before and out of the 25 stocks I tested it with, it failed probably 18 of them. So, I guess my system is not meant for automation but I use my system day in and day out and I've been profitable. My position trading and daytrading are based on this...

Good futures trades in the last hour. Made money on SHLD only to lose most of it on CMGI and PFE.

And I thought I was the only one seeing this market starting to run out of gas. I'm going to start scaling in 1 contract at a time up to a total of 7 contracts. I think we'll be closer to 10,300 than 11,000 by the end of the month

    QM volume picking up

I'm an occassional QM trader. Just started trading it about 2 weeks ago, made a few bucks. I like that it's very directional.

Osorico, while I wouldn't call it steeped in arrogance, I would agree with you that his trade and not following his stops is a sign of fear of being wrong. I'm certainly at fault with that, too. It's really hard to be 100% true to the stop. At any rate, a great trader would adhere to a stop...

    Ninja trader or a broker - ????????/

It takes its data from IB. IB has an API that allows programs to interface with it to get data so you don't have to pay extra.
