Was anyone expecting the beige book coming out? Wasn't on Econoday or Marketwatch Economic calendar and didn't hear anything on Bloomberg or CNBC (I was mostly watching Bloomberg TV today). Stopped out my trailing stop short +1.75 and then moved lower...oh well still a good day. (Edit I...

Ok getting long here 1473.25 with stop at 1471 (just below lod), target 1479 for about 3 to 1 r/r. Edit: Market will test where the home numbers came out. Once we test that number 1478-1479, I will then reverse my position and get short if I don't get stopped out first. Edit2: stop moved...

I noticed this as well, but am still waiting for a response to one of my other posts. Should I pull an island and say told you so with my call about bias being short until we close above 1500? Although I didn't think we would break 1492...

I thought he traded with a dollar stop of -$15,000 per day? I could be wrong as I did some skimming when I fell behind on the board. (I don't usually post my stops, but they are out there somewhere, for island I'll post it tomorrow)

I've been stopped out, but that's ok, part of the trading game and good r/r IMO. I hope you are not referring to me as the village idiot... Edit: was it you a while back that called apex an idiot?

I view 1492 (futures) as a resistance point, and 1490-1500 as a resistance zone. If we can close above those levels my opinion will change. Good risk/reward trades. Edit: look at daily 6/8, 6/28. Now needs to close above level of 8/8 close.

Also, ford auto sales at noon est. Edit: Chrysler any minute, GM around 1:30 (all according to CNBC) Ford meet expectations of horrible numbers...so no new news.

    Why Daytrade????

I see, so you haven't tried daytrading futures. It is a whole different ballgame. I don't daytrade stocks either, although I know plenty who do successfully. I just couldn't get a good working system to make money on a regular basis, I got stopped out too much.

Here's to hoping I figured out my daytrading system (I made my last modification one week ago) :) First trade corresponds to 10:12am EST. I'm going to start posting my daily pnl. Going forward, I will just take a snapshot of my dom, but since I already did this for another thread I...

    Why Daytrade????

100% agreement, why limit yourself. I started out as a swing trader, then started OPM (option premium writer - which I do most), and am now working on becoming a daytrader (when I discovered ET). Why limit yourself on just one thing if you can do them all successfully? And of course have long...

Good job! Although why don't you call your trade live next time? Just got long again 1430.75. (As a side note, I don't always call all my trades since many times I'm doing other things, but you also won't see me bragging on my non-live calls)

You must not have been reading the journal for very long. Most people on this board have been short and are now starting to get long. I was early on both sides of the move, I started getting short around 1550 (futures) and caught most of it to 1500. Got stopped out (a few times) before I...
