    Obsessed?

I doubt there is much in this book that can improve your trading, but if you're running a small business, there is plenty. The book largely focuses on the idea of subcontracting out everything to people that can do it for less. Particularly in poorer countries. In essence, this is what big...

How to manage so much information of Forum

You have to pay for OneNote. It would be better if the Elitetrader Admin simply added a 'Favourite' button which saved the thread to a personal list. I tried to find a good thread from about 7 years ago the other day and I had to scroll through about 12 pages of search results to find it. It...

Is Trading As Easy As This?

That's like saying the process to becoming a world class Formula One driver is as follows: A) Put on helmet B) Put on fire proof suit C) Get in car D) Take off at the start line. E) Travel though each corner at just below crash speed. F) Pass all other cars E) Stand on...

How to "sit" on a position during a big move

I think the key is identifying major long term S/R levels and getting short or long at those points, based on your longer term view of the market. For example 1000 on the SPY is probably the most important S/R level at the moment. If you're longer term bearish, and the market breaks below 1000...

    172 mil in taxes-ouch

If he hasn't filed yet, he can still file. I'm sure the fine for being late will be a lot less than $172 MILLION.

Congrats to my buddy Aaron at Schindler Trading up over 13% in July....

Aaron was on on a hot streak for the first couple of years back in the early 2002 - 03. He had a couple of bumper years, before his 50% draw down. Hopefully he can get back to his old form.

    Which motorcycle?

The Triumph Speed Triple is meant be to really comfortable to ride. It's a naked bike which most people either love or hate. I like it. As one of the previous posters mentioned, you can fit risers to your bars or just buy new bars with a higher riding position. And you can always shift the...

What is a good way to take advantage of volatility

As long as you're trading momentum and you're looking at the intraday or multi day swings, any increase in volatility will mean larger distances between the natural support and resistance zones in the market. So you don't need to do anything other than make sure you're trading. The results will...

Wiki leaks Founder wanted in Sweden on rape charge

I thought they would just drop some untracable chemical in his lunch and knock him off. I guess with rape charges he has to suffer the humiliation first. I'm actually surprised he is still alive.

    Damn recession !!

Profits might be up but most S&P 500 stocks still have very high P/Es so there is little upside. The market is fully priced.

    Peter Schiff forecasts a depression

Eight, I'm interested in your theory on Sunspot cycles. I did a bit of reading on this and I was of the understanding that we saw an increase in sunspot activity around 2008 when the crash occured. And this year we are getting some pretty severe activity also. So I think the theory is that low...

    Have the Algo's accomplished this?

I don't think so. If you look the Dax futures as an example, it trends much the same as it did 7 or 8 years ago. You still get nice intraday trends of 30 - 70 points and multi day trends of 3 to 5 days, offering 200 plus point opportunities. As well as the occasional intraday trend reversal once...

    Hindenburg Omen - Aug 12

I think its important to recognise that the hindenburg omen is in fact multiple omens. One doesn't have a lot of meaning but two or more can be significant. The more it occurs, the larger the move is likely to be. Prior to the 2008 crash we got the omen something like 7 times in forty days.

People would rather overpay for bonds than underpay for stocks

If real asset prices are deflating at around 4% per year, then a 2% return is really 6% without the associated risk of holding stock. Bond holders are not stupid. They are smart. You may get a 6% yield on a good stock, but you have to risk 100% of your capital to do so and in this market...
