Anything besides SPY with M/W/F expires? stock, ETFs, futures

Although some quotes may be wide in the SPX, the "real" markets are usually very tight, especially with spreads.

Anything besides SPY with M/W/F expires? stock, ETFs, futures

Both TD and IB will pass on exchange fees in the SPX of around .60 a contract. Some "free" brokers such as Robin Hood will not allow you to trade SPX options because of this fee.

How are options routed at TD Ameritrade

There are 16 different options exchanges. With TD/TOS you can route your order for GS options to 9 of these or select the Smart Route. Not sure if the Smart Route is designed to give you the best fill or if it takes into account rebates TD may get. Either way your order will go to a specific...

    CBOE removed its option calculator?

Its a little buggy. When you click the link you will see a small "next" link on the right side of the page. Click this until you get to the strategy you want.

    CBOE removed its option calculator?

The OCC has one as well, haven't used it though. https://www.optionseducation.org/toolsoptionquotes/optionscalculator

    Backing Away/Options Quotes

I see, so you are saying your bid was traded through. What was the product? What was the code in time and sales for the option trade that traded through your price? If you give me a bit more information, I can look that up for you (product, option series, time and date).

    Backing Away/Options Quotes

You are comparing prior trades to the asking price. You need to pay the offer, not pay a past trading price.

Why do exchanges like CBOE have fees for order cancellation?

When you enter an order it is "tagged" by who you are, customer, pro customer, etc. When I was tagged as pro customer a while ago it was awful. I paid much more in fees the next quarter and many of my orders were not filled. I shared an office with another trader and he would put an order...

Why do exchanges like CBOE have fees for order cancellation?

Wasn't this about the time they instituted the whole Pro Customer fee schedule? Basically now if you put too many orders in (390 average per day) you pay much more in exchange fees.

Why do exchanges like CBOE have fees for order cancellation?

I have never been charged a cancellation fee, from the CBOE or any other options exchange.

    IB executions lite vs pro

Do you know how many option and stock exchanges there are? First in line? This may have been a good answer 35 years ago but not today. If there is a 1 dollar wide market in a stock or option, it matters where your order is sent and who looks at if first, this will affect the fill quality.

    USO options

I see a lot of volume and fairly tight markets in these options. May 8th 2.5 strike puts showing .01 wide market .14-.15 650 traded. Even going out to Jan 21, markets are fairly tight with a lot of volume. I don't think the information IB is giving you is correct. You have tight markets...

    USO options

You should contact them now, as these adjusted options are trading and you should be able to close your position.

    USO options

I have no problems entering orders to open in USO1. This is a broker specific rule. I have heard of brokers restricting opening orders in split adjusted contracts, but I have never heard of closing orders being restricted. Could be a permissioning issue. Let us know what IB says.

    USO options

The old split adjusted options are trading under the ticker USO1. The new options, trading under the new post split USO, just started trading today under the USO ticker. Decent volume today.

    Bull call spread assignment risk

Options generally aren't exercised early except in limited situations. For calls it can occur just before a dividend or in a hard to borrow stock. For a puts it is an interest rate play. Other than the call situations above, early assignment doesn't mean more risk, it means more margin. So...

Option expired in the money without execution as stock suspended

Ok, so you were long the put and it didn't get exercised. The OCC cancelled the auto exercise rule here because the stock was halted. There is unique risk exercising options in a halted stock. If you exercise puts, you get short stock (if you aren't long already). Short stock in halted stock...

Option expired in the money without execution as stock suspended

It is not clear to me what happened to you. LK was halted at 4.39. You say your short options where not executed ( I assume you mean assigned), the 20 strike. If these were puts, it would be fantastic for you, it would mean you wouldn't need to buy the stock at 20. If they were calls you...
