    Why waste your time?

I have some brain damage too. Then I discovered that some people can become genius from brain damage and is a real phenonmenon. Not suggesting you should intentionally give yourself brain damage to be a successful trader.

Annual PnL statement 2017 - Winner will be awarded a prize!

True, but it's rare these days. The dating environment has changed since you were 33 years younger. I have an uncle who's been divorced twice already and he's just 50 yo. Divorce rates are high.

    Why waste your time?

Just wondering. How can you make claims like this when you yourself aren't yet successful? It doesn't make any sense. The reality is that there is a very very small chance of success.

Annual PnL statement 2017 - Winner will be awarded a prize!

Sounds like things my ex-girlfriend would say. After having a couple of exes with obvious personalities flaws, you kind of start to develop an eye to sniff it out. A pretty face does not fool me anymore. Thank god I never tried to married any one of them. I could only imagine the hell I might...

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

Whoops. Didn't work out. But exited at Breakeven. Now Price is at negative territory relative to Entry. In the past I would have gotten angry at the loss profit and hold on to the loser. So I consider this a success in Risk Control.

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

Death by a 1000 cuts, that's very much true. I agree. Which is why I mentioned Timing in combination with Risk Control. The better you can time entries the better you can manage your risk control as they can be ridiculously small compared to profit potential. Which then lead to being able to...

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

Problem is even if true, you really cannot tell what the Pro is doing in real time. If you actually do that, kudos to you. I've never figured that out. There are many fake and traps I see in the market. But at the end of the day I have no idea if it's Pro causing it. More important does it...

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

Are there any data statistic on Retail and Pro? I'd like to see that.

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

Patience, Risk Control, and Timing are the 3 keys to Trading in my opinion. I highly doubt it's Pro against Retail. Because Retail are not that huge compared to Pro. More likely it's Pro against other Pro that generate price action.

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

For my timeframe it was close to 100%. I'm a more of a scalper. However, profit wasn't the goal for trading today because I was more focused on risk control. It's the biggest problem for me right now. But everything else is looking fine system wise. The trend was an unexpected surprised.

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

I don't know. Statistically, I keep undershooting when I tried timing chop, pullbacks, top, bottom etc. I would like to enter and hold on a trend but difficult to tell sometime when a trend and chop. More often then not I tend to get shaken out. And then there's the scenario where you can be...

Is Trading This Easy or Am I Missing Something?

After years of trying to time market tops and bottoms for who knows what reason and failing consistently on it, I've decided to start doing the opposite today. Note tone may be humorous, but content is serious. I'm just bored. It started with the premarket hours as I was trying to time...

Need to eliminate the big losses

The formula to "Positive Expectancy" involves (Win Ratio) X (Reward) X (Risk). So you can win with small losses and big losses as long as your win rate is high enough. Therefore I don't doubt your system is possible. I could do the same but generally I prefer the opposite. There are multiple...

Need to eliminate the big losses

You need to do a reset and start trading small sizes and learn to take losses on those. Small Size. Small Losses. Until you learn by instinct to take losses. I had a problem (and still do to an extent) where when I started increasing my contract sizes and almost immediately I started taking...

    Paper Trading

Here's the problem with your line of thinking. Trading is very much similar to competitive sports. There are only so many systematic rules you can follow but you are still a human being and it takes a combination of skill, talent, experience, psychology, etc to win in addition to rules. In...

Successful traders, what did you do to increase your performance stats?

Risk Control! Risk Control! Risk Control! Easier said then done. Especially when you start getting conditioned while in a winning streak. I trade much better when depressed then overconfident.

Took out a loan to transition to full-time trading. 24 years old.

What you need to do is study, research, test ideas, and keep refining your trading method. You think that it's just your psychology that is the issue, but there is obviously something wrong with your system when it is making huge losses. I can tell the reason why a mile away. Try to figure why...

Took out a loan to transition to full-time trading. 24 years old.

Well technically, I still have a few issue I'm trying to resolved. Mainly psychological issue like revenge trading, which I'm still struggling with. It's a tough mental barrier that's hard to defeat. I give up a lot of gains due to it. Today, for example I've kept hesitating at some of my stops...
