    Do Trendlines work?

Hey Joe, I'm curious. Is your refresh OK? I stopped using Prophet because for me, for equities, the refresh sucked. I hope it's not the case for YM. Sincerely, lj Take a shot. Refresh. Take a shot. Are the shots the same?

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

The premarket is for price discovery (PD). It serves other functions as well, but PD is a big one and DIA is usually all over the place. Confusion? I don't think so. Rule: Three closes is safest. Three popped up for Mandelbrot too. And 1-2-3 too. lj That 132.98 spike has gotta be...

what happened to NYSE "opening indications" ?

Evidently not. Otay. One last try. Surely you boyz knew about the fuzzy-wuzzy OP. So bend over and retroflex your cervical spine where it articulates with your thoracic spine. lj

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

The pesky thingy, an overnight gap was filled rather briskly this AM and so the question naturally arises, "So what?" There are more to gaps than just the absence of price. There is the relation of a gap to previous price activity, previous gaps, the timing of the gap, the manner in which it...

what happened to NYSE "opening indications" ?

I trade GOOG a stock with the NASDAQ as its primary exchange. I do not trade the opening price in the same way many of the people who are posting here do. I wait until I know what it is and then do my thing. But what I have noticed frequently and unpredictably is that the NOOP which should...

    My Market Analisys

Seems we were both right for today, you moreso than moi. I don't think we've seen the last of the 4:36 AM 13111 low, but who knows. lj

    August Crash of 2007

As a gappin' kind o' guy myself, I don't think this statement is correct unless one wishes to set absolutely no time limit on the probability that a gap (stock, bond, index, indicator, etc.) will ever fill. If that is what you are doing, I can't disagree with you. A LEAPS play might be fun. lj

    My Market Analisys

DIA 11 AM volume says they test again. 60 minute YM volume shows outside down which is suggestive but not forcing for further test of the overnight low. lj

    My Market Analisys

Nice early AM call but they gots to test that overnight low. I'll be watching the volume down there. lj

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

There's another pesky thingy this AM which the overnight crew hasn't yet filled. Let's see what the BSD's do. lj

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

Price tumbles in the after RTH market. The broker-dealers are eating their own. Where will price stop? At the new gap? Well, actually it's not new, just previously unnoticed. It was so small, it hardly deserved mention. It actually occurred before the "big" one on 5/1-2. Let's see what...

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

So if what you saying is that a gap is a failure of price to move because of a market closure, market suspension or "too light volume", then I would again ask what do you mean by "a market closure, a market suspension and too light volume"? Are these the only circumstances under which you have...

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

I have not seen this phenomenon (a chart changing after a refresh) since moving to DTNIQFeed/QT months ago BUT it is clearly evident in the pair of charts below [PM II follows PM]. Until the exact reason for this is determined, one should use ID (intraday) gap data for YM with appropriate...

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

Oh, oh. Volume up but price be falling below that funny line. An ID 200 tics/bar chart is showing a refresh phenomenon indicating too few tics/bar for reliable data. lj

Damn. Here be the attachment. lj It seems that when one does a preview of a post, the attachment must be reattached.

    Are gaps (aka gasps) important?

What with the DF-DM nasty out of the way for another week, we can now expect that whatever is going to happen, is going to happen. Would a close above the upper "post" of the 5/1 - 5/2 12 point gap be bullish? Possibly, but before getting too carried away if that happened, it would be prudent...

    DTN: Is NOT Keeping Up...

Hi, Please understand that I am not trying to be argumentative but what is the basis for your statement? What are you comparing your CQG feed to, to know that you are not missing a beat? By missing a beat do you mean that there are no missed trades or that there appears to be no slow down...

    DTN: Is NOT Keeping Up...

No problems here in WA state. IMO, with CPU utilization as high as 85% you might be straining things. Like you, I have a Duo but with 4 gigs of RAM, a 6 MB cable feed and a CPU-U rarely above 20%. I trade liquid, big beta equities so I don't know if that's of consequence. DTN is, for the...
