    Interactive Brokers direct trading desk

Is there any # to get directly to the IB trading desk? I had to get out of a position today as my internet went out and their customer service line took exactly 13 minutes to pick up.

I'm not affiliated with the service at all, I just want to know if anyone has used it and how it was considering there's quite a hefty fee. Thanks

    100% guaranteed rally on 11-21-07

I actually respected this guy before -- but the fact that he's going into a hole when the call is going against him is disgraceful. What will be even more embarrassing is if the market rallies and he re-appears.

    100% guaranteed rally on 11-21-07

I don't want to pile on here... in this kind of market, a rally into positive territory wouldn't even be a big move, but damn brotha.... guarantee is a strong word and we're currently at session lows. The very least you can do is show your face and tell ppl how you are playing this out...

    Neon

I've been buying a ton of NEON lately and have an average cost of $3.70 -- this company has sales and revenue that trump their current market cap, therefore this seems to me to be the biggest value play I have ever come across. The weekly chart looks good, a descending wedge pattern after a...

Canadian traders -- how are you hedging?

In regards to 2006's post -- I'm not looking to hedge intraday moves, I'm just trying to keep my income the same. I can't increase size on most of my trades because some of the instruments I trade are illiquid so I don't want to make $1000 USD in a day to convert it back to CAD and land out...

Canadian traders -- how are you hedging?

CVDS, I've thought of that but some of the stocks I trade are often too illiquid to increae size but I believe that would be the best strategy

Canadian traders -- how are you hedging?

That's the problem... it's easy to hedge a long-term USD denominated portfolio but I'm just trying to keep my daytrading profits from being cut if the CAD continues to go upwards. I don't think it's too late to hedge, I'm just looking to hedge any further increase over parity -- I'm not...

Canadian traders -- how are you hedging?

I wanted to ask all Canadian daytraders how your hedging your profits? Let's hypothetically say 2 years from now the CAD/USD is at $1.50 and you are trading US equities making $100,000 USD... on conversion, you're profits are cut DRAMATICALLY.... how are you hedging?

    How to hedge the $USD?

Do my CAD balances include the CAD I'm long with the USD/CAD short?

    How to hedge the $USD?

I still don't get how this hedge will work if I'm spending 6% a year on interest

    How to hedge the $USD?

I called IB again and they said they charge 6% per year for the USD short... the hedge doesn't make much sense if I'm already 6% in the hole

    How to hedge the $USD?

I called Interactive Brokers and they say I'm being charged 6% for my USD short... now this makes no sense for my hedge if I'm paying 6% a month on 40k

    How to hedge the $USD?

And my last question (I hope) is, let's say I short $35k USD/CAD... does that take away $35k of my buying power?

    How to hedge the $USD?

If the previous posts about $1.50 for every $100k short is true then that's a very small price to pay for this hedge. I don't understand why you say the leverage would land out hurting though?
