Spyder, I was reviewing today's chat logs and you mentioned GMXR as an example of using volume to confirm a FTT. 11/24 is an inside day on rather light volume. Then, on 11/27 is a down bar on increasing volume. This is a great example of how I get screwed up with volume analysis. I see the...

    InteractiveBrokers monthly fee?

IB you only pay for minimal data costs. US stock and futures is $10 per month unless your commish exceeds $30 (then it's free). Keep in mind that TS fees are waved with very little activity.

Continued thanks Spyder. Many puzzle pieces are quickly falling into place.

    IB log-in failed

Got it to work, problem was on my end apparently. I upgraded to new Java and all is ok. Note, that at the Java website they specifically instruct you to do an uninstall of any old Java installs before the upgrade.

    IB log-in failed

I am experiencing this with stand alone. Haven't upgraded to latest Java nor the latest TWS. I logged in this am fine. Now nada.

    IB log-in failed

Just went to log in. Typed in my user name and password. The little log-in window pops up that says "login in progress..." and hangs for several minutes. Then I got an error message that said, "login failed - failed send NSMsg-java.net Socket Exception: Connection Reset" I tried several times...

I had been having a hard time convincing myself to do channels. I found many excuses not to, one of which was drawing a few lines, and then telling myself they didn't work (after very very little practice). Then, after hearing and reading Jack suggest to have some clear space on the right...

Spyder, In your opinion, are these annotations appropriate or am I being too predictive about current price forming a new Point 3 in a newly formed IT downtrend? Thanks for your input.

Thank you for the ES Spyder. It turns out my channels are close enough to what you did to call it indentical. I will do this daily in real time for a couple of weeks and see if that jogs my brain into understanding what's really going on. I'm able to label FTT's usually 1 or 2 bars after the...

Thank you for some very useful suggestions. Any posts you make of the ES charts would help immensely. I, like so many others, typically don't trust myself to get it right and it's nice to compare with someone with more experience such as yourself. Also, the basic tenets of NLP tell us that...

Dear Spyder, First, more profound thanks. After hemming and hawing for a long while (couple of years) I've moved exclusively to trading the beginner methods and whoa and behold it's working. Second, a couple weeks ago I posted a question about volume, and after additional study (primarily...

That's what it looks like to me too, but I don't understand why OMNI showed up as being in dry up according to the scanning script.

My apologies if this question has been answered previously. I've tried to find a post on this but couldn't.... Often times, I'll run the Wealth Lab script to scan for DU, and on that list will be a stock that doesn't get a green background on the main script. Is this simply due to a variation...

I would appreciate input from those with more experience in this method. This morning I took a position in BTUI at 8:59 central time. Price and the indicators were all go, and volume was running in such a way that LBDU would easily have been met by 9:30 central time. After entering, price...

I have been frustrated by not having available to me the Unusual Volume concept in my charting package. I also am loath to go back to Qcharts because of my pitiful experience with Esignal support. So, I've come across something that may provide an alternative. As I try it out I'll report my...

:) Actually, I did realize it. One thing that has been clear to me for a long time is the idea of Peak volume is for real. My mentor was a floor trader and we had discussions of what peak volume looked like on the floor. Heavy volume kept moving price until it didn't. The area that I'm really...

Spyder, I have a couple of questions that I haven't seen touched upon before which I'd like to bring up. They have been knawing at me literally for a couple of years. If you prefer that I start a different thread on this I will gladly do so, but brought it up here because it seems to key to...
