    Oanda Ripoff prices

Ever though about checking the spreads before you 'enter a bunch of marketorders'?

    Those non-US dudes trading NYSE?

The best solution is always that your broker offers accounts with your home-currency as base-currency. You can use a physical delivery service to get better rates and hedge the FX exposure, but it will always incur fees/swaps and bind margin.

Anybody pay Tom Yeomans for his signals? They are a ripoff!!

Show me any FX signal/trading system seller for $300 thats not one of the 3 things i mentioned above. Not talking about books, data-providers or other trading related accessoirs.

Anybody pay Tom Yeomans for his signals? They are a ripoff!!

Seriously, why would *anyone* in the trading business sell something worthwhile for $275 - its ridiculous. The offer says it all really, $275 in trading is nothing. Just apply a little common sense. People selling signals/trading system for these amounts of money are either crooks, fools or...

I approve this thread. otherside: did you sell your "quant-models" for $275 too?

MB Trading - Spot FX Execution Failure

Lon Eagle, i think commissions came down since then. Me smallfish got an offer for $18. That was Aarontrade, which is an IB for ADM as far as i understand it. A nice feature they have is that you can enter a trade on Currenex and exit on Hotspot (or vice versa).

    Flexible contract size

MBTrading does allow any size from 1000 units upwards too, if i remember correctly.

    Choosing a Broker?

Nassim Taleb's `Black Swan' Investors Post 50% Gains as Markets Take Dive

Yes that's his strategy. Put x% of capital in very deep OTM options, wait for the big bang and hope there's enough monies to survive until then.

Nassim Taleb's `Black Swan' Investors Post 50% Gains as Markets Take Dive

Breaking even? More like blowing up his last fund.. He likes to style it as an "experiment" rather than a blowup nowadays. Wonder if his former investors care about the distinction tho.

    Choosing a Broker?

I have both Hotspot and Oanda accounts, in the end it only matters who provides the better pricing (Oanda has a slight advantage there). I doubt Hotspot is lying in there 'Best Execution'-statement as required by the regulator in Europe about being a agency-only broker, but in the end it doesn't...

    moving past Interactive brokers

Fimat/Newedge? They have pretty high minimums, but these days with all the HF redemptions they may also be interested in not as big business. Also they aren't a bank and kept out of the news so far during the crisis.

Quad Card VS: 2 Dual Cards

I was thinking this: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/rgu/extio/extiof1420/ The advantage is you could rackmount several PCs in another room and have only 1 set of monitors/keyboard/mouse for them. 100% silent.

Quad Card VS: 2 Dual Cards

Matrox QIDs are nice because they are passively cooled, meaning low noise. My box sounds like a vacuum cleanser, im thinking either about a KVM extender solution (only found 1 that supports 4 monitors, expensive) or low noise components.

    Those non-US dudes trading NYSE?

I agree, what the retail-banks charge in terms of swaps and fees for deposits in another currency is ridiculous. You can either use a broker with multi-currency accounts like IB and deposit in your currency directly, or another good option is Oandas physical delivery service. You can exchange...

Is my money safe at Interactive Brokers ?

I dont think the margins or broker-biz is a big problem, but they still do have considerable 'wallstreet-exposre' through their options-marketmaking? A failure of a big counterparty would still affect them, no? Also think Velocity Futures, if one of their moneymarket funds fails where they...

    Currenex this week

I'm seeing mostly 3 pip spreads on average on FXi in Eur/Usd and Usd/Jpy in the recent days.
