    Automated trading?

If it looks too good to be true, it most likely is. And in the case of low profile offerings of trading systems or 'Managed Accounts', it always is.

    Anyone Tried PFG Currenex

4XQs: Thanks for posting your findings. Have you tried HotspotFXi ? Hotspot is closing their retail department and sent me an offer to go with their institutional branch. Im a bit unsure where to go from here, might as well be IB (despite the neverending stream of complaint-posts here on this...

    Proposed NFA Capital Requirement

Mr. Angry: will they continue to offer the Hotspot platform or will they migrate the customers over to their own? Hotspot retail wasn't really great in the recently, there were only 3 marketmakers left quoting prices and only in small size - the entire eur/usd book was often only 5 million...

    RBS Market Index

No, its the former ABN Amro Marketindex (it got rebranded to RBS Marketindex recently) - which uses Oanda technology.

Intra-day historical data from CurreneX or HospotFX

You can buy HotspotFXi data from Tenfore (EUR 20 per instrument per month for tick data, cheaper for 1 minute data).

    Proposed NFA Capital Requirement

Well that would hurt MB Trading or Interactive Brokers too for example, which are both FINRA and NFA members.

    Tickzoom release - pathetic

Yes it compiles in VisualStudio without problem - although not in the free VisualStudio Express because that doesn't support project sub-folders. I just started to dig through the code. Ill have to start figuring out the basics, for example such a simple thing how to select the model for a...

    Ninja Trader? Any users here?

Yes, the offer on their website introduces to Gain or something. Hotspot is new and they don't advertise it on their website, but its available if you email them. But like i said, its too expensive compared to the competition.

    Ninja Trader? Any users here?

You cant use the DOM to enter FX spot orders, they have got a seperate order interface for that (without a dom-ladder). Its called FxPro or something. You can trade HotspotFXr through Mirus with Ninjatrader/Zenfire, but its expensive ($5 per 100K traded). Ninja can also connect to...

    Forex broker for trading forint

Well, EM/CEE currencies are having a bit of a rough time at the moment.. The spread used to be between 60 to 120 on eur/huf. I think Saxobank does offer it too (not entirely sure tho).

    Matlab trade visualizations

Im not a matlab user, but what you could do is write the resulting entries/exits to a text file, and import this to a 3rd party product. Im using home-grown software for simulations, import those trades into Neoticker for visual confirmation and performance reports. Much easier than rolling my...

    IB: Disable auto-center on booktrader?

Its quite possible that they don't allow this on purpose. TT - who got a patent on this - is suing everyone and their mom who uses a static dom ladder without paying them a license fee (i.e. Ninjatrader has to pay them too in order to offer this).

real "miracle" stories of growing a "micro/mini" FX account...you have one?

6E is way too big for a $2500 account - if 1 contract moves 20 pips against you, you are down 10% (12.50 x 20) already. Anything under $20K is overleveraged for FX futures intraday trading in my opinion, and that's on the very low side.

    Is this normal?

If by chance you use Ninjatrader, you could give MB Trading a try. Commissions are high in comparison, but they don't have a minimum ticket fee, even for 1000 units. I use them to feed my charts with realtime and backfill data. Their quotes are good and it works reliable. Couldn't tell about...

Using a spot FX data provider who is not also an FX broker?

You can purchase data for example at Tenfore (see http://www.quotespeed.com/uk_content_pi.htm for their different sources - price is EUR 20 per instrument per month for top-of-the-book tick and bid/ask quote data).

    Is this normal?

I think you can trade as low as 1000 units at their retail branch, but you will get raped on fees since the have a $3 minimum fee per ticket. IB is not much better for very small trades, they charge $2.50 minimum per ticket too.

    Is this normal?

You could ask if you can scan the signed form and send it via email. I do that with Hotspot.

Recent broker tests - mid sized accounts

Its not always true that Hots is more expensive through another broker - i.e. Advantage Futures charge $18 without any volume requirements - and go down to $13. They offer access to most futures exchanges worldwide too.
