    Reliable FX Broker Recommendations

Well your list pretty much only leaves you with MB Trading then. Wouldn't call them particularly large tho. FYI, Oanda has no such limitations like 10K or 100K amounts. P.S. I'm not recommending any firm

FXCM Launches Net Stop and Limit Orders on U.S. Accounts

I don't get it. Limit and stop orders on a trading platform. Is that something to write home about?

    New to Forex trading

Of course that makes it more difficult, but not because of the absence of trends (guessing that is what most people refer to as noise), or that the trends in smaller timeframes are inherently different from those in higher timeframes. I can post some charts tonight or tomorrow. Its a bit...

    New to Forex trading

Ok, if its not the 'noise', why are you not able to trade the shorter timeframes then? Of course, in the shorter timeframes the impact of the spread and/or commissions is larger. Other than that, i fail to see the difference (within reason, its easy to tell apart a 5-second chart from a 5...

    New to Forex trading

"Anything below that is noise" There are a lot of people who say things like that. I'll take any bet that if i posted 20 randomly chosen candle-charts without axxis-labels with 1,5,15,60 minute and daily timeframes, none of these people would be able to identify the timeframe of said charts...

    Interactive Brokers For Forex

Another user of this forum said that this limit can be raised by IB if you ask. Don't know if its true tho.

    NEED HELP - New Trader!

In a nutshell, no. OTOH there is no shortage of gurus and so called trading educators you can pay (or donate to), they will feed you crap for as long as you keep handing the monies over.

    Maximum loss/risk in Forex trading

Its possible that the account ends up with a negative balance, with futures as well as fx. You should have at least a protective disaster stop well above margin-call level. When a margin-call happens, it gives the broker the right to place trades in your account and manage his risk (since...

I dont get your trend projection. You would need a lower low or at least a double-top or something before thinking about short?

    Ivan's Trade Thread, part II

European style ATM cards are a security nightmare (for the customer). If someone steals the card and the PIN-code, they basically have the whole thing. They don't even need the physical card, sometimes they use fake ATMs that copy the card and with a small cam to get to the pin-code. There are...

    debt with broker!

I agree, filing a claim is risky. Here is a claim against velocity for a negative balance: http://www.nfa.futures.org/basicnet/Arbitration.aspx?entityid=0317696&case=08ARB52 The guy's account was 30K in the red. NFA decided against him, and he had to pay the 30K AND an additional 26K for...

    What is the EUR/GBP future?

Its the right contract, but its just not really liquid. I don't know why, there are people providing liquidity in 6E and 6B, so it they could easily do the same in eur/gbp futures too. But apparently no one is interested in that. Long 1 6E and short 2 6B leaves you with additional USD...

Need historical minute data - good source?

I don't know about stocks, but if you want futures data from IQfeed be careful. They only offer continuous contract data and quite a few contracts they use useless rolling rules. Makes the data rather worthless. I have attached a ZG chart below as an example.

    Be aware...

Nobody appears to be upset about the firms offering $500 intraday-margin on ES and other futures. You can blow up just as easily with them like with the 200:1 fx shops. Regardless of asset-class, there will always be firms catering to the ultra-high leverage punter-segment.

    CME Clearport Clearing

With the old Reuters deal, i guess you mean FxMarketspace? As far as i understand it, Clearport is nothing like that. Its just for clearing previously agreed upon OTC deals only. For example, if you and me agree to do a trade, and we both had Clearport access, we could enter the trade on...

    5 Golden Rules of Trading

A back-up broker helps sometimes, but often it can be dangerous, because you don't know what exactly happened (i.e. did the order make it to the exchange, will pending orders be filled or not, will they bust the trade later, what exactly is my position, etc.).

    5 Golden Rules of Trading

Apart from the trading risk, there is also technological risk. I can think of a number of scenarios that are potentially fatal to an account that involves IT-fuckups, either on the traders or the brokers end, or somewhere in between. Especially for short-term traders, that typically use a bit of...
