Anyone ever used Advanced Markets Forex??

Still - its too expensive. Others start with $20/m and go down from there. Granted, most require a higher inital deposit and you can't trade miniscule amounts there. This fee schedule just isn't viable - considering the competition.

Anyone ever used Advanced Markets Forex??

bstay: but that's the case with most ecn platforms, most of them don't have charts at all, and if they do have charts, its pretty barebone. Its execution only, desiged for the pro segment which is supposed to have their own means of analyzing the market, through what ever software they deem...

Anyone ever used Advanced Markets Forex??

Pricing/spreads look competitive enough. The software is nice too, i have been using platform one(choiceFx) with Hotspot, until they closed their retail branch. Really convenient order-entry, the charts are useless tho. Platform 2 looks like the same thing Aarontrade/ADM sent me in an email to...

Are Agriculture Futures a good idea for a beginner?

If i'm not mistaken, the minimum to open a futures margin account is $2500 as per regulation (in the USA anyways).

    MB Forex New Commission Rates

I could think of a bazillion more useful things than cards that they should implement. Like EUR accounts (amongst other ccys). Or that they pay interest on cust funds. Or accept bills or other AAA govt paper for margining purposes. Or an universal account ala IB. Or eurex acess. Or ..

    MB Forex New Commission Rates

They are quoting GBP/JPY in 0.05 pip increments now. Whats up with that? Pretty wide at 5-6 pips too..

    MB Forex New Commission Rates

For small traders there is an additional minimum ticket fee with IB when converting the PnL to the account base ccy. Will be interesting what volume breaks MB will offer.

Good charting software for IB's data feed?

I don't agree with that, especially when trading OTC instruments. Since there is no centralized price discovery in f/x it is in my opinion important to confirm pricing with a 3rd party (parties). Blind flight trading without verifying quotes from a single firm is not really a good idea. This...

Good charting software for IB's data feed?

Myshkin: eSignal uses a composite fx datafeed where quotes from alot of brokers/istitutions are aggregated - i.e. EUR@A0-FX will include all quotes from all participating firms. You can however single out individual firms and chart only their data too. For example, EUR@TDFX A0-FX will...

    Do bucketshops go bust..........

Maybe, maybe not. In the past it was often the case that some customers were affected and others were not by such problems. What sucks even more than the problem itself is the utter failure to communicate from Oanda. Every time something is amiss, there is - if at all - some half-arsed...

    Proposed NFA Capital Requirement

"bought 51% of Crown Forex SA in December 08" That thing was such an obvious scam (zero spread/no commission/swiss domicile). Bought it right before it got shut down too. Its almost funny.

    Adding a database...

Vhayu and KDB+ appear to be topdogs as far as storing large amounts of timeseries data is concerned. Comes at a cost tho.

It should be noted that with sites like Collective2 there is a huge conflict of interest - since they collect kickbacks on a per-trade-executed basis. They have every incentive to make their 'audited' systems look good. That includes editing out 'technical' fck ups on a fairly routine basis...

Are US citizens allowed to trade FX with foreign brokers?

I'm not entirely sure what the legal situation exactly is, i only know that RBS Marketindex, CMC and so forth all don't accept u.s. clients. I really doubt that the problem is in european legislation, my guess would be that they would run into problems with uncle sam of some sort. Yes, most...

Are US citizens allowed to trade FX with foreign brokers?

Yes that is true. Firms that do offer CFDs and the like on exchange-traded commodities and stock indices can not accept U.S. customers. If they offer f/x only, no problem. There are still a few fx firms that don't accept u.s. citizens no matter what, not sure why.
