FED behind move on Monday ??

Interesting excerpt from www.stockmarkettimer.com: ...The Fed PPT we referred to Friday is the "Plunge Protection Team". We wrote about the PPT a few weeks ago in this column. For those who missed it, the PPT actually does exist, although its proper name is the Working Group on Financial...

    IB Downtime

Funny to see an old thread resurrected. I didn't have any IB disconnect problems today (futures), but my Qcharts went down (CME down I believe). Had a great morning in the eminis so quit early. This thread brought back bad memories. Have to say that after several months of trading the eminis...

7/14 LA Times Magazine article titled "Failure"

I was just talking to my wife about all the people in our small town that have gone bankrupt and are now millionaires years later. It's amazing what tenacity and knowledge at others expense can do for you. I'd bet it's certain personality types that exceed at their professions, not so much...

    Temple's Safe trading

I spent a week in his live chatroom because I was so impressed with his long-term track record. His website basically updates every 30 seconds saying what he's doing, and a commentary on current market conditions, what he's thinking, etc. His primary calls you could follow, but his scalping...

How do you use support and resistance?

I use S/R exclusively to enter/exit and for trailing stops. It is the most consistent phenomenon that exists in trading (stocks or futures) IMO. Most people know the S/R for their time frame, and subsequently increase volume at those points by buying in anticipation of bounces, or fading and...

the trend is up, market has bottomed.

Here is a good article on the bottoming of the market: http://www.cross-currents.net/charts.htm

the trend is up, market has bottomed.

This chart shows historical S & P prices, with corresponding P/E. Fair value looks to be about 60% below where we are now. Maybe earnings will explode in the near future and negate this?

Satellite? Does it work well for trading?

Can you get wireless? In my area its preferred to DSL and Cable by gamers who want to shave a few milliseconds of latency. Don't know why for sure, but is has less lag they tell me. Unfortunately I can't get it at my house due to a tree in my way down the road.

Simulated trades against the ES02U. The results are so good because the time period is so good. When the market consolidates tightly, this system sucks. :) Just posting this to somewhat prove that mechanical systems can work. The main problem I find mechanically trading over long periods...

Here is the trade detail. Cost per trade is estimated at $30 per contract, per trade. $12.5 in + $12.5 out + $5 commission. So $90 per trade was used in this test (3 x $30).

Here is a more refined system that trades S/R, but not just the H/L of bars. It uses 15 minute bars, but works on other time periods as well. This is on the actual ES emini September contract from June 13th, to July 9th, 2002. The Performance Summary:

    Futurs calls from mellinnium traders

I've been getting their Swing Index journals every day for several months, and they seem to be 90% profitable on their calls? Has anyone actually followed or traded the index calls? As I understand it, they enter at primary S/R and partial out as the position moves favorably. If they are as...

The Trend is DOWN ... BUT could we be bottoming ???

Like the MM Cecin said in that article above, "I don't feel any obligation on my part to be buyer of last resort. I'm just another player in the game." Tears are welling up. After all they do for us, I think they should just take their phones off the hooks when the market crashes. Toooooo...
