Hi coolweb...I like your NVT selection...took a few moments to check it out, while a bit pricy (high price to book/sales) analyst like it and seems to be in a relatively stable channel since Oct. While you are certainly right that all cars and other's will have it...probably not in the next 15...

    Absolute beginner looking for advice

21st Century has been recomended before....personally I don't know. You will find $100 for a book not terribly expensive. I would echo hopback's recommendation on Laurence McMillian "Options as a Strategic Investment" I bought it at a discount at either half.com or Amazon. In addition I...

Who on this forum you learned the most from?

Rather than single out individuals...I have benefited most from the Journals...the people who have taken the time both to post and discuss the methods being used the "whys" and "wherefors" the individuals who have set up the Journals and either real time or same day updates so you can follow the...

One more thing I've been thinking about in "Donna's World"....I am personally troubled and I think the Market may be as well (especially going into the weekend) over the religious strife in Iraq. If indeed they break out in a Civil war then where is the US roll in THAT conflict? If the bombers...

    Vertical Spreads for Aggressive Growth

I'm actually not feeling too bad about it...I believe my rational (for buying it back) was right...I never worry about losing money if I'm taking winnings...but when I close a losing play and it immediately changes course...ugh!:(

    Vertical Spreads for Aggressive Growth

Hi Chris...makes me feel better that you are in cash...I've been feeling very Skitzo (sp!) abt the mkt. On one had feeling that spx at least will get higher but on the other hand not excited at all abt stocks. Other than some stocks that I'm long in and a few Calendar put spreads that I'm...

    Calendar Spreads

Personally I think there are better ways to play neutrality...such as IC's....but neutral spreads seem to work better on the indicies because of event/gap risk in stocks.....so my tendency will be to do directional strategies on individual stocks and neutral strategies on the index such as spx.

    Calendar Spreads

That is a great question....I'm trying to figure out. From what I've been reading a calendar can be neutral or directional. I wanted to use calendar's on stocks I'm negative on because I'm not really comfortable yet doing straight puts or put spreads. A calender can be sm loss if you are...

    Calendar Spreads

It makes sense today to buy back 10 of my short 65's as I don't want the significant risk attached to naked puts...but will leave the rest of the calendar (now diagonal) to play out.
