Probably ...if you give some more info on how the program works you could get more recommendations and suggestions...and why not ..move to a new platform...

IMHO i think that if you have/will have a killer product then forget about selling it as a normal software(copies)...it just won't get the money you are dreaming...and if its actually making money ...then you will make just one sell...just one and only one will spend...
Normally it should be viable...it justs requires a lot of code along with a lot of data and the most important patience...just don't say you would put $100 to an account and by tomorrow you would have $1,000,000....
If someone had a really automated profitable system we could looking to a value around a couple of billions to say the least......a rather "stupid" game got the creator 2.5nb ...so a winning automated system should be valued much higher....maybe its time to continue my code....
First of all take a solid backup of your files...
Then give the exact specs of your laptop..along with the rest of your peripherals especially your router and how you are connected....also don`t forget your main applications and especially your antivirus.

I read more carefull the article and the buyer has a range i guess from 30.00 to 30.10...so if its in acceptable range it would be acceptable....

I don't know the NT Api but saying i will learn C# and start using the API its a rather bold statement...First you must finish the essential code examples...write some programs that serve a purpose and then you could start thinking about programming in any field....

Well if Oracle decides that should support Java i guess it would a major player for a lot of years....but it doesn't seem that way...So MS will probably win the war with C# if they manage to pull up a compiler that matches the speed of Java....
I guess it depends of what are needs and what kind of data manipulation you need....For example if you want to perform some aggregations over a period of time...you need a database...no matter if it a RDBMS or NoSQL....
