    Selling MetaStock Professional 7.0 RealTime

Hi, guys. I'm selling MetaStock Professional 7.0 RealTime For eSignal This software has never been used and includes all the items in the original package, not just the software itself. The books are still shrink wrapped, the cd software jewel case has never been opened. All user guides...

    WINDOWS 2000 vs. XP

Hi, larrybf Here's a link to a thread titled, "XP of Win 2000 which is best?" with 50 posts http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7873&perpage=6&pagenumber=1 I switched from Win98 to WinXP Pro after much consideration about going to Win2k and quite frankly I have had issues...

    Determining Trend

I trade a lot of things but mostly equities and we're probably saying the same thing more or less. :) What I do is look at the last several volume bars to see if there is any progression - like increasing or decreasing volume over the last half hour, hour, etc. I don't just trade off one bar but...

Agree. Too short a reference and you're looking at too much volume "noise". But I look at 5 min charts too. But that's what I meant but you clarified well. :)

Where can I get (or buy) 2001-2002 historic intra-day E-min NQ & ES data??

Thanks everyone. :) Very useful links. I've heard that eSignal is going to be expanding the available tick data beyond 60 days soon. You can call them and ask. BTW the tickdata.com site has available 11.5 years of 1 min data on 1500 US equities which would be really nice to have. The catch...

    Determining Trend

It's also useful to keep an eye on the volume to see where it may pick up or fade with each advance/rally or pullback/selloff.

    Determining Trend

Great point. But you also need to have clear rules set that would make you change your mind on your position and reduce the size or add to it or just close it out.

    Determining Trend

Good points. I noticed that the last few days too, especially Thursday, people were focused on the wrong time frame trying to short intraday, with sometimes larger positions, a market which was obviously heading higher. We have a tendency to remember what happened yesterday and the day before...

    my last 7 trades

GG, Hang in there bud. Here are a couple of reposts from a different thread (The Trader's Block thread) from Wednesday which I think apply here. It's just a very difficult market now. Don't let it defeat you. :) ------------------------------------------------- FWIW I find this a difficult...

eSignal 7.3 beta with popout windows - anyone tried it yet?

Thanks to eSignal for adding this feature. Very useful and something I was very much looking forward to and frustrated by not having it. My own personal request, which you and I have discussed in a few PM's, is to be able to create futures overlays in the form of a line over the underlying...

Inside the Industry - Chat w/ Don Bright

Actually there is software to create this type of drawing effect from photos. Photoshop, for instance, has filters that turn photos into black and white drawings. :)

    Trader's Block

I probably spend about 12 hrs a day on average doing this and I hang out during the day in several trading rooms with hundreds of other traders and that's what I sense. As you say, if you don't have a strong sense of what's up in the market then it just becomes gambling and I for one am not...

    Trader's Block

FWIW I find this a difficult market to get a handle on and I've been trading a lot less myself as have many of the other traders I hang out with. Also I sense that many of the traders I do hang with that have maintained their levels of trading seem to be wrong more often in their trades. Spreads...

    installing new motherboard, P4...

:D Very funny. :D I've never had problems with static electricity but have heard of people that did including a component manufacturer that was frying a large number of their parts and didn't know why until they figured it was this.

    intraday TRIN alert...

6.64 was the high today. And according to my charts if hasn't been this high since 10/97 six and a half years ago. But as someone noted the VIX is still not that high, 37.85. And I'll also point out that the TRINQ isn't that high either 1.44. Interesting internals. There seems to be no panic...

    NYSE OpenBook billing?

Thanks for your clarification of the realities of maniputlations of this as others have also pointed out. Certainly not a new concept in the markets. :-( Doesn't sound like it's worth it for the most part.
