    Traders' Coach (Woman)

I think that if you are not a profitable trader, then a trading coach is worthless. You would need a mentor to teach you how to trade first (or learn yourself). Now if you are profitable and only desire to be the best, a trading coach would be awesome. So many people forget what they are...

Charles Cottle moved? Oh no, he was the best thing since sliced bread. A really gifted trader, who could disect the most complicated positions (and a nice guy). If I remember right he was going to start a hedge fund. Maybe that's why he moved. If anybody knows the story I'd love to hear it.

Met my Weekly Goal for the First Time

Hi, I know a awesome trader who told me to set goals. Not crazy 10pts day goals but small 1-2pts day goal. He said it helped him to be focused and realize he was there to make $ and not just for glory. Overtime he was able to make lots more and yet kept the mindsets that he could trade more...

    Trading after a job layoff

I agree with Marketsurfer. If youv'e been watching the markets for 5yr and are not a trader by now, having people next to you might be that extra boost. You would also have their leverage and get your learning curve down alot. You could also try the emini which you also have leverage and...

    Fighting the Tape

I think that it's also the old greed factor. I think your trying to catch the bottom of the trend (which is a risky thing to do). You should try to get greedy with patience instead. If you think it's going down try to maximize it. Example was today. Some kick ass traders made bank today...

    J-trader versus TWS

It was awhile ago. Around $6 RT. I'm not on a hero's quest to validate them. I'm just telling you my experience. I also think J Trader works pretty good. I've had no delay's myself. But as the saying goes "one mans trash is another man's treasure." So always take it with a grain of salt.

    J-trader versus TWS

I have used Global and I thought they were pretty good. I thought they have good support, great margins and good commisions. But like everything, try it for yourself. I admit that there are lots of boiler rooms, but I don't think Global is one of them. -I do not work for them, just stating...

    Routers-who is right at Comcast?

I think Catoosa is correct. They really don't care if you have a reuter. But, they refuse to give tech support for one. So, if something happens, some of the tech people will refuse to help you. Some don't care and will help you anyways.

What period to set On Intraday Stochastics

How do you want to use/interpret it? Some people use it for divergence and some for the %k/%d crossover for entrance. I've found a longer term works better for crossover because less whipsawing. A shorter one works better for divergence intraday I think for divergence because it's more...

    what's it worth?

I agree with AMT. Systems come and go. Volatility, volume and other things change the market enoguh that you must keep tweaking the system to make$$$. I had a friend from MIT who made systems. Well, he spent more time on making system adjustments than actually trading. In the end he was...

    Is 126 RAM to little?

Thanks for all the replies. 1 yr. ago I thought that having XPpro and a pentium 4 was all that mattered for a great platform. Ontop of a great graphics card. So I guess I just might buy a new PC.Then give my older one to my younger brother. Just so I can learn more about computers, is...

    Is 126 RAM to little?

Are RAM sticks universal? Just go to the computer store and pick up one? Or should I take mine out, take to store and match it up. Sorry if I sound dumb, but I'm in the medical field and not Computers.

    Is 126 RAM to little?

I have been tweaking with my CPU this past weekend. It's usually pretty fast, but sometimes slows down with multiple charts/windows open. It's a pentium 4, XPpro with around 2.2GHz. The ram is only 126. How much would increasing to 256 help? Does it help just a little for trading or is it a...

    CPU fan not detected

My 1yr warranty just ran up on my Dell and now I have a problem. My computer sounded more quiet than usual, but I did not think anything of it. I usually just always have it on with no ill effects. Well, today I turned of my computer and it went to a page that said CPU fan not detected push...

Trendiness of Days - assigning a value

You could also use moving averages. If they point in one direction and are steep it's trending. Also if price hits the moving averages and bouncing, it's also trending. When the moving average lines are all lined up and flat, it's not trending. This is a simple method without having to use...
