    Vertical spread risk/reward?

Trading credit spreads has the potential to provide high return (5%+) per spread, high probability of success (90%+), but when they lose, the have the ability to wipe out several months profit. Management of the spreads becomes critical in reducing the impact of these inevitable losses. If...

    Market Order or Limit Order

When I place a limit order with my broker I get my price or better. For multiple option spreads I have seen partial fills with different leg prices but the credit I required. I have also seen multiple fills with different credits at my limit or better. Partial fills can also be from different...

    Protecting successful trading strategy

The best way to hide something is to hide it in plain sight. One account among tens of thousands is unlikely to generate much interest. Even if you are unusually successful, what it the probability that yours is near enough the top to get their attention? And even if it did, so what? What have...

    Bizarre ThinkOrSwim chart behavior...

This looks like it might be an image rendering artifact. Look, for example, at the density of vertical lines in the area highlighted. When this occurs, try changing the imaging area width and see what happens.

Are US markets like oil, index, and commodity markets rigged

My experience outside the financial markets is that rigging is sometimes hard to detect. Once detected, however, it is usually easy to derive a strategy to exploit it. My experience with the financial markets is insufficient for me to know how difficult rigging is to detect and how easy it is...

Are US markets like oil, index, and commodity markets rigged

Rigged games and unrigged games have weaknesses that can be exploited, just differently. Rigging can be obvious or hard to detect. Why should the financial markets be materially different?

Are US markets like oil, index, and commodity markets rigged

I admit to being an amateur at many things. But I'm usually pretty good at understanding the rules of a game, identifying its weaknesses and exploiting them. And I frequently beat professionals at their game, even when they cheat. It's especially gratifying when they are arrogant. Whether I...

Hackers find new way to cheat on Wall Street

Without arguing the point of whether it is wise, it is none-the-less interesting that there are huge amounts of money being spent on cutting microseconds from the communications path. Not only in co-locating, but in a new undersea cable.

    Data mining challenge

It's been a while since I was intimate with this field so my memory could be faulty. However, I don't believe the fitness function had to be monotonic with proper gene pool management. GA's lack of fitness for pattern recognition is beyond my recollection.

Are US markets like oil, index, and commodity markets rigged

I don't think it matters. Whatever the rules of the game governed by the big boys, the clever among us will find a way to take profits.
