Out B/E. It was just below 1.56 so I was quick in moving my stop, betting that it will either push above 1.56 fast or I'm out.

    Trading mentor and real answers

For an unknown to me reason, % of snake oil sellers and simply assholes on ET seriously increased this spring (most of them registered Feb-Mar 2008)...

Poor, poor LS.... He's so jealous and also wants to talk dirty in a chat... :D

    Intraday FX Player

I'm starting this journal mostly to improve execution discipline of my FX daytrades and maybe share views on EURUSD (the pair I trade) during European trading session when all my trading buddies from US see dreams in their beds. :D Usually I do 3-10 trades a day, risk ~2% of equity per single...

    Russia, group

Actually there are at least several more people from Russia on ET. I know it because people contacted me in Russian with questions about markets I trade (US and European).

    Russia, group

Are we going to count traders from Russia or discuss the country itself relative to the rest of the world? :D

    2% per day!

For sure it's doable and I voted "yes", but doesn't mean you'll do 2% every day. One day it can be 8% another day -3% for example.

    Woodies CCI

As for WCCI... If you want to use CCI, then madscalper's interpretation looks better to me. But if you become a master of ONE exact Woodie pattern then IMO Woodie's rules will work too.

    Woodies CCI

That's exactly what I was trying to explain. There is no such thing as a perfect system. They all have flaws. But I am ABSOLUTELY sure that with disciplined execution and enough experience WCCI, Ross Hooks, LBR ANTI, LBR "Holy Grail" or whatever we all know about does make money. The...

    Woodies CCI

OK, sorry for misunderstanding you, I took 100K number from another post here. So you do not blame WCCI method for being guilty in your losses, right? It's not that I have any reasons to defend it except that many people tend to have problems with trade and risk management as well as...

    Woodies CCI

I'm not a big advocate of CCI and rarely use it by now simply cause I found higher probability and better R/R ways to trade, but I am pretty sure that even raw Woodie's CCI setups do work and are profitable if applied with proper risk and trade management (limiting your losses and riding your...

    Woodies CCI

Hmm... How can one lose over 100K learning a method if she/he is using a good risk management (stops) and proper position sizing (NEVER over 1 car at a time until you're CONSISTENTLY profitable for at least couple of months and many trades)? Looks to me it's not a method fault at all...

    Stop Losses are for Losers

Disagree. Hard and tight stops are ESPECIALLY effective in FX as opposed to SIFs which indeed tend to have a lot of stop running games and demand you to be smart with your stop placement. If your FX dealer is fishy and moves the quotes as much as say 5 pips only to run your stop, it takes...

Someone gives you $50,000. Where do you put it right now?

Wil simply trade those instruments I do usually. :) Don't think any interest is as "decent" as trading profits. Espeially during these times of uncertainity.

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

So, everybody had fun with a 800 point single 5 min bar today? :D

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

Volume is crappy, but OK for practice trading HSI with small risk (1 car). Slippage though is more adverse than "big" HSI.

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

To avoid extra entry slippage, good practice is to enter with limit orders... HSI as many other SIFs is also all about level tests... For me that was the key... But unlike say ES, swings are wide enough to always keep R/R excellent. I really admire people who can daytrade ES considering...

Trade after work -- Trade HSI

Funny thing is I have just the opposite experience with HSI in the shape it has become lately... LOVE those 1000pt range days and huge swings. Never seen a better breakout instrument. Slippage of like 10-20pt regularly happens indeed, but I simply price it in when counting risk of the...
