    Simple Profitable Method

OK, thanks! That's a very good R/R for 60% hitrate. Will definately spend time to look deeper in your system and try to get a feel of it! Janis

    Simple Profitable Method

Yeah, I also feel I need more experience so much! But still, what is your average risk/reward lately? Do you use stops or exit for a loss only when MACD signals (crosses in opposite direction)? Janis

    Simple Profitable Method

Hi trader28, Thanks a lot for interesting system. I have the following question: you said your realistic win rate is around 60%, but what is your average loser size? You said your winners are 2 points for ER2 and it's interesting what is your average R:R? Thanks in advance! Janis

    e-mini dow scalping

In my opinion the reason "why everybody doesn't use this" is very simple. I made a small manual backtest and this stratery really seems to be good and profitable, BUT. For the same period of time I simply made more YM points trading my usual trend following strategy. Yes it has less winning %...

    Any psychologist on this forum?

I have a university degree in psychology and can say that it probably helps me to better analyse my own psychological problems as a trader and thus solve them faster. But I wouldn't say that I ever used stuff like "psychological preparation" etc. Just don't feel it's needed.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

Did you just admit that profitable trading IS possible with proper risk management? :D

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

It's only a matter of time before we all die. :) Why bother about such things? Do you know how many people perish in car accidents? And it is obvious that the more we drive the more chances we'll be among that number too because of the same stuff: probabilities. But is anyone here thinking of...

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

Did I understand it right that "harder" or "easier" is just a matter of how a particular trader is used to trade? I mean "hard" market for one can be "easy" for another and vice versa? Janis

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

Hmm... I will probably appear a complete amateur, but it all sounds like a kind of Mumbo-jumbo for me. :) I mean how can this knowledge be aplied to real trading? From my own experience: I just took a couple of chart patterns and began to use them in short-term futures trading as well as...

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

Thanks for advice Kiwi! I will definately take a fresh look at short-term FX (FX futures) trading again! I guess that I became profitable with index futures because there are clear times when they are volatile and so there are good intraday trends (regular open hours). I'm a shorter-term...

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

It was very surprising for me to hear that US index futures are the hardest markets to trade. A year and a half ago I started trading FOREX, spend almost a year without any positive results, tried to trade futures (YM and ER2) and finally became moderately profitable. Now I think that if...

    Woodies CCI

I visited Woodie's seminar in Prague this June (had a vacation there and it would be stupid not to spend one day to learn something interesting) and can definately say that there is nothing magical about Woodies CCI at all. For example, for ZLRs Woodies DOES NOT use only CCI. He uses and...

    Trading Hammers (revisited)

Oh I see! So it's more like discretional perception of price action in general, including everything that can be seen from charts rather than exact price behaviour patterns applied mechanically, right?

    Trading Hammers (revisited)

Mark, Thanks a lot for such a detailed answer. It cleared for me one thing: I actually don't understand what you mean by "shift in supply/demand". I always thought that by analizing price action (chart patterns, candlesticks), volume and such we try to evaluate the supply/demand pressure...

    Trading Hammers (revisited)

Hi Mark - Sorry for too small first chart, I never posted charts here before and have not much experience in posting pictures of optimal quality. Great to hear from you that I successfully found valid hammer patterns. If you don't mind I have a couple more of questions to you related to...

    Trading Hammers (revisited)

Hello Nihaba - First of all I want to say many thanks for your great threads! I read both hammers threads from beginning to the end and it influenced my trading in a great way (I began to see signs of reversals where I didn't before and it helped much to my current strategy). But it...

trader_rachel: Why is it so? I know many people successfully scalp indices and with 1.5 pip spread why not scalp forex? Maybe I just don't see some traps?

    Scalping - urgent help required!!

Thank you very much people for explanation of kind of forbidden scalping! Now I understand what exactly they forbid. :) Before that all my trading life I didn't understand what's so bad if, just for example I use Woodie's CCI on 5 min to get my 3-5 or so pips from a trade. Now I see the...

    How would you define "scalping"?

I don't understand really, why brokers don't like scalping? Doesn't scalping mean more money for them in spreads? What's their reason to hate scalpers?
