    Woodies CCI

Actually the problem with CCI is not that it's too lagging, just the opposite - it's very quick and often shows divergences and TL breaks BEFORE price actually does the same, but there is a price paid for it: sometimes you get stopped out simply because you entered too early and price continues...

Anyone recommend charting software for Linux?

I use prorealtime, and it's absolutely ok for me (wrote about it in my starting post), except for that it does not have an option of external data feed or support for HKFE (HSI is 50% of my trading and I can't drop it because of charts).

Anyone recommend charting software for Linux?

Today dedicated a Saturday to making charting run on Linux, with success. :) Installed the latest version of Wine and now QuoteTracker runs perfectly... Sierra doesn't work (login screen hangs on startup), but I don't care much, as long as at least QT runs OK. Tried to run Ninja, but it...

how do you trade in market like this

Just sit out. When good moves occur, jump on them. There was plenty of such moves this week, so sitting out one choppy day is not a problem at all.

Anyone recommend charting software for Linux?

Tried QT and Sierra under Wine. Sierra tries to load but can't be authorized, QT loads and connects to data source, but works bad (windows hang when moving them etc.). So still the only stuff I have is for US data... :(

Anyone recommend charting software for Linux?

Thanks a lot boot and tco! I have one more question bootstrap: What data sources does qstalker support among realtime datafeeds? I'm a daytrader and need intraday data. BTW I found a Debian packaged qstalker version. Also I'll try to load quotetracker and maybe sierra chart in Wine...

Anyone recommend charting software for Linux?

Hello everyone - Have the following problem: Migrate to Linux and very happy with it, but can't find a charting software to use under it. So far I used IB TWS built-in charting, but it's abilites are quite limited plus some indicators (ADX for example) for some reason work wrong and...

    Woodies CCI

I assume, only SUPER PROFESSIONAL BORN TRADER. :D Indeed, trading with tools like CCI is much like learning to play games like tennis for example. Skills can only be obtained by hours and hours of practice and in no other way. Testing discretionary systems such as WCCI mechanically is just...

IB new security features- makes me mad!

Pardon, did I miss something? EVERY IB client should get a secure device? It's not that I'm against it, the more security the better, afraid of another thing: should I order it or what or can be restricted in account access somehow?

    Trading Zoo?

I doubt any trading course is able to make traders having close performance. So their performance "statement" has no value and very likely is ideal picture of "what if full swings were taken".

Is TWS able to make option orders based on underlying price?

Hello everyone! Have the following IB TWS question: Say I need to buy XX strike call option, but only when price of UNDERLYING reaches XX. Is it possible to enter such orders in TWS? Thanks in advance!

    The Psychology of SCT

AFAIK Jack always admitted that he took this concept from other authors. And yes I also read Wycoff articles before I read Jack's posts. But probably due to lack ot examples or something else I was not able to understand how valuable it is until saw Spy's samples. That's it. Again I...

    The Psychology of SCT

No need to read all his posts to grasp quite an easy and useful concept of price/volume relationship, looking at several charts in Spy's thread is far enough for a sane person. :) As for other stuff maybe I'll find it useful later, maybe not, but would not critique it because who in his mind...

    The Psychology of SCT

You guys who critique SCT really "splashed out the baby with water". I honestly admit that appeared either too lazy or simply have chosen a path of least resistance, but I do not follow SCT in a way as Spyder gives it and do not use most of the tools given (like Str/Sqw etc) and trade in a...

    CCI & Eminis

If I wanted to use some indicator in e-minis it would be CCI for sure. I like it a lot and still use in FX trading. As for e-minis I simply found price and volume to be enough to trade it successfully and any indicator would just make method unnecessarily more complex.

How to run TWS on Linux?

Just tried to switch server to one in windows file, it didn't work. But when i switched back it eventually worked and I must say TWS seems to work faster under Linux than under Windows and eats almost twice less memory. Don't know what exactly helped, maybe just the fact I was rebooting a...
