Using both. For HTB centerpoint is definitely better. But beware of location fees, they get up very high, when there is a lot of demand for shorts. It also happens, that you pay location fees on stocks that are Easy to borrow at ibkr. Typically 0.012 per share is a number i often see at cp.

I think if someone with many followers would post something like: "Look at stock XY, let's all buy this and squeeze the shorts out" I would consider this market manipulation.

It depends where your order is routed to. I recently also got great fills routing to MEMX. I think OPs order didnt go to an ECN but to Citadel or someone else who probably didnt fill till price ticks up, but thats only a guess.

Agree. I link scanner with 4 charts with different time scales and booktrader. I enter orders through booktrader, by mouse and custom hotkeys, eg. for stop limit orders with preset offset. Never used charttrader.

Agree, also not US based but IBKR is great on withdrawal / deposit times. I can recommend them. Some folks don't like TWS, but that's a different thing... for me TWS is fine.
