    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Redneck, This was BPTrader's very first post on these forums 9 months ago: "I plan to start trading after reading a few trading books. But I really need some advice from REAL people. If you are a SUCCESSFUL/PROFITABLE trader, please throw me some bits of advice, any advice will be...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Let me inform you of something, since you are obviously too dumb to know this: I KNOW that you are not profitable. I KNOW that you are just a pretender who likes to act like he knows what he's talking about, but really doesn't have a clue. So does everyone else reading this thread. By your...

    Worst Remote Firms

A tight loss limit is not a bad idea. A $30 loss limit is a moronic idea. It basically gives you one trade before you are stopped out for the day, which is ridiculous. You should be able to place at least a handful of trades per day before your loss limit kicks in.

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Riiiight. That's why on June 19th, you wrote: "That, I have achieved. I very clearly recognize when my system is not working: from 9:30am to 4:00pm every day, every week, every month, every year, for 3 years. I guess I have found the holy grail."...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Wow - you might actually be the stupidest person I have ever run across on these forums. That is saying a lot considering the quality of some posters on ET. Buh-bye.

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Answer my question: are you making consistent money or not? If not, you should really shut up before you embarrass yourself any further. Your statement above was a trite piece of BS crap that is inherently obvious and does nothing to illuminate the topic. I know why traders don't take losses...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Oh my god you are such an idiot. It takes more than just hard work. I can offhand name a dozen people in my life who are horribly unsuited to being traders, because they are the types of people who can never admit when they are wrong. They also aren't particularly fast learners, and make the...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Let me see if I get this straight. You started this thread pretending to be a trader who can't take a loss, in order to see what we would say? So you could help other traders? Is that it? Not sure that this makes any sense to me, but answer this question: Was your first post genuine or...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

In the first post of this thread you said: "Why is it so hard for me to exit a losing trade? (I have rules, they don't help)." Now you are saying: "I know exactly why a trader doesn't take a loss. I am perhaps the only one on ET who knows the reasons." If you know the reasons, why...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

No, you DON'T. If you did, you would be able to exit your trades. You "know" that no trade is guaranteed the same way that a girl in an abusive relationship "knows" that she should leave her jerk of a boyfriend that keeps punching her in the face. She "knows" it on a mental level, but she...

    help a ETer out

Absolutely 100% agree. The fact that you are coming on here asking questions about how to trade and how to exit a position tells me two things: 1. You don't have a trading plan. 2. You are not even remotely ready to trade real money. The answer to your question is: sell everything, go...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

Finally, if you keep trying to get over this and can't, consider giving up. It's the right option for 90% of the world, because 90% of traders will never make consistent money. You may be one of them - not everyone is meant to be a trader. Think about how much you really want it before you...

    I have a serious problem: I don't take a loss

The reason you have this problem is because you have not accepted reality. The reality is that no trader, not one person in the entire world, can ever predict with certainty where every single trade is going to go. Even the best trader that has ever lived is going to often put on trades that are...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Think of it this way: each election is decided by roughly 10% of the population, the swing vote in the middle. Who are these people? They are not the die-hard social conservatives. They vote Republican. They are not the die-hard leftists and the poor. They vote Democrat. There aren't that many...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I agree. I have noticed a trend lately with more people I know deciding to take control of their own finances and do their own trading as opposed to just letting it sit in mutual funds, as a response to the large declines over the past year or two. Not that most of them are going to make money...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I doubt that this type of thing is going to pass anytime soon, but if it does there will always be some country somewhere in the world that wants our business, and the associated revenues that will come from it. A trader always has to adapt to keep making money, and a changing landscape is part...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I'm wondering if this will really be such a good thing for the big firms, even if they are exempt from the tax. Implementing something like this is going to remove a lot of the dummies from the market, because it's the small retail traders that will end up paying the tax and be driven out...

    Worst Remote Firms

Is he not upfront about the daily loss limit? Did he lie about it? It's your responsibility to be able to ask questions about stuff like that. I realize that a lot of people can't do that simple task, but then there are some pretty dumb people in the world. We live on a planet full of scam...

    Worst Remote Firms

I don't feel sorry for the traders that lose their money to this program. Even if you're a complete newbie, you should have enough brains to know that paying someone $10k and then having them enforce a daily $30 loss limit on you is ridiculous. If you're dumb enough to not understand that, it's...

Which real live future trading room I should choose?

Unfortunately, no. I just joined that room for fun, I didn't really need the education in any way... and after that experience I realized that these rooms were just a complete waste of my time. Basically, I think that's what people here have been trying to tell you - that following any chat...
