    Brights Ratings

There wasn't anything apparent to me. Redi has a ton of functions, but most are useless for my style of trading. I'm sure there were some new functions that I didn't see.

    Brights Ratings

I used it for about a week. The main problems I found were DDE/ActiveX problems, screwy T&S data, and they removed the button on the L2 order entry to mark all sales on 'auto' (to avoid having to mark short sales 'short'). Redi tech told me they removed that option because "it never really...

    Poll: % Total Return % 2002

My guess for the average account size on ET would be about $30k. If that's true, why would it be so hard to believe that 27 people were able to make $45k or more???

    Poll: % Total Return % 2002

You have to take into consideration that probably most 100%+ returns are on small accounts. It's not hard to make 100%+ on a $30k account. A better poll would be how much everyone made in $ terms.

    IRS Audits & Notifications

I was audited this year due to a mistake by an old broker. My father had tried daytrading in 1999, and I was an authorized trader on the account. Well, the morons reported all of the trades in my name, and in 2000 were shut down by the SEC (for many reasons). I was able to obtain the...

    IB MOC order reliability

From IB user manual: Market-on-close (MOC) ...Currently only NYSE and AMEX support native MOC orders. For equities traded on NYSE or AMEX, you can route the order direct to the exchange, or through IB's Smart Order routing. For all other destinations, IB will simulate this order type by...

    trading frustration

For the past 3 years I made about 80% of my profits in only 3 months. Once my system starts to deteriorate I get back to the grind of looking for something new.

    trading frustration

I have to agree with Lescor...this past month has been extremly tough. I have automated alerts for all my trades. In Aug-Sept I got about 100 alerts every day. I was disappointed if I didn't make a grand. These past weeks I get about 20 alerts, and I'm lucky if I capitalize on two of them...

    why do we need spreads?

That's why you're a daytrader. Cut the spread in half...take some risk and make some money. The idea of a computer keeping inventory at one price doesn't make sense for an auction market.

    JNJ Specialist

I have called him much worse names on more than a few occasions...gave up trading him a couple months ago.

    Bastard Testing

You are going to have worse results as your size increases, but I would try NX limits to reduce slippage.

    GG, November - It Begins

At this stage in the game your very best option is to go prop. The only excuse not to is laziness or lack of discipline to get the license.
