1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I'm no economics whiz, but as it was mentioned earlier...the goal isn't necessarily to increase revenue, it seems to be more along the lines of getting rid of all the small guys. When you get rid of all the small guys and liquidity, prices are much much easier to manipulate. May not be...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Hey bud, how's it going? That sounds good on paper, but then they would just end up twisting the words and teaching bogus propaganda anyway. The gummint would still be in charge of what was taught. They would end up using the mandatory economics class as another means of indoctrination...

    Initial Balance for Currencies

Hey JJ I agree with you. I read in a book a while back from a guy who uses MP that he uses 2 hours for the IB period due to the long hours traded on the currency markets...He said he found it can take longer to determine the range in those markets. The book was written back in '97 though, so...

    Only losers talk about pips?

No, crgarcia, I was talking about you. Not Warren Buffet. Buffet knows his shit. You do not. Yet you claim to be managing peoples' money. That is fraudulent and a loser thing to do. Do you not consider it fraudulent and fucked up to sit around posting these obviously newbie threads (like...

    Books for Price Action?

I have read Dalton and Williams. Agreed, good books. Would you mind offering a little opinion/insight into Barros' book? Seems he is into Market Profile concepts from what I have read on his blog, etc so far. Would be interested in your take on the book. Thanks.

forex price action as an edge

Nah it works fine. Tick volume is based on ticks (go figure lol) and doesn't require cleared volume data. Since most of the time quotes between brokers will be reasonably in line with each other, using tick volume can give you an idea what is going on. It all depends on what degree you are...

Bro trust me I was the same way and honestly have to say I still sort of feel that most of Joe's interest lies in self-promotion... But the book was recommended by a close friend who used to trade on desks in Chicago and at the Merc and now trades from home successfully. And I mean...

Hey, no Chick Goslin explains what he calls the 3 line method. Utilizes short, medium and longer term momentum to make trading decisions. The book is outstanding and offers insights into many aspects of trading beyond methodology. Chick's book is incredible and I would read it...

Yes, most definitely it is. Give it a shot, you may very well find the T&S and vol data to be helpful. I know successful traders from both sides of the fence regarding T&S/volume data. Also, there are a few charting packages out there that will display tick volume. Best of luck.

Clacy, The Joe Ross book is applicable to all time frames, he has some extra material on the differences of managing a day trading position vs a swing/position trade...but he says in the introduction that the book is applicable for all time frames.

Right, which is why you are complaining. They do a good job at such a thankless endeavor...and we've all had our run-ins...but I admit, any time someone messed with my journal, etc they did their job fairly. I respect that. Hell, they even let Rowshan run a thread OUTSIDE OF CHIT CHAT...
