    IB Secure Device

Locking it down by source IP address range and/or domain is a bad idea. Most customers don't understand how IP addresses work and ISP's don't notify their customers when they start handing out new addresses. Locking down by domain names is an even worse idea that's not even worth...

ETF - priced by underlying or trades ??

I'm not sure I follow you, the owner of ETF's always have the option of exchanging their ETF shares for the shares of the underlying following the terms spelled out in the prospectus. If at any time the ETF price deviates enough from the underlying it would a simple matter for somebody to arb...

ETF - priced by underlying or trades ??

ETF's are priced by supply and demand just like any other stock. There is no one setting the price - market forces keep the price inline with the underlying, if it deviates too much someone will arb it back but dont confuse that action with the price being "set", its not set, it floats just...

    Monitor vs LCD TV

You could look at a 1080p LCD with a resolution of something like 1920 x 1080 pixels which would be more tolerable (and of course more expensive then the normal HDTV LCDs that only do 1080i) but with that size screen and that resolution things aren't going to look good unless you are a certain...

Pentium D and Core 2 Duo--which is better for trading pc?

I didnt write the article but imo no serious trader should be using an overclocked PC so your question is moot in this context. PS: You can edit your post (instead of posting twice)

I liked the Flip this House episodes with TradeMark Properties but in Googling around (http://www.flipthislawsuit.com) I see they are engaged in a lawsuit against A&E.

Pentium D and Core 2 Duo--which is better for trading pc?

Even if your app is single-threaded keep in mind there are always a host of other things going on that can be run on the other processor (OS processes) so its not like it will sit there idle. Dual core systems also tend to feel more responsive because of this (tasks dont get cpu starved)...

Housing #'s down 3.9%%%% 848,000 didnt get the 7% jump

I'm sure that's true for you. There are many in this country that are not financially sophisticated. Especially because they may be under the false assumption that lenders wouldnt give someone a mortgage if they couldnt afford it (which used to be true until recently) No doubt it was in the...

Housing #'s down 3.9%%%% 848,000 didnt get the 7% jump

While I agree that people need to take more personal responsibility and read the fine print, if a slick mortgage salesperson told Grandma that her monthly payment would be A and neglected to mention that in 2 years it was going to reset to A times 2 then it is not simply the case of taking out...

Housing #'s down 3.9%%%% 848,000 didnt get the 7% jump

When a house is foreclosed on it breaks the normal cycle where a family sells a smaller house in order to buy a bigger house. A foreclosure just puts a unit on the market (supply increase) and takes one person out of the market (demand decrease) With tightening credit policies fewer people...

Share a keyboard and mouse without sharing the monitor

Let me state up-front I could be talking out my ass because I have never used this software (synergy) however I don't see how workgroups could be in any way related to your problems. This is cross-platform software, you can use different operating systems for the client and server...

    TAX question, help !

Since the IRS has no idea how much you paid for things there is no way they "think you made $3000". You tell them how much you paid - they only know how much you sold it for (aggregated). Any "buy" information that was included on the 1099 was for your information only, the IRS did not get...
