    Kudos to MMs

My P/L column is based on a keeping an average position (basis) for all trades, so after 4 short trades ( 1089, 1104, 1107, 1121.75) the overall short position basis was 1105 - if you close out 2 units @ 1116.75 the loss is ~22 (1116.75-1105 x 2) Nitro appears to be tracking each trade...

    Kudos to MMs

The price column already is there and shows the price that the trade was executed at (short or cover), basis is the overall position average price and is not affected by covering the short position... You only seem to be questioning 1116 vs 1117 for the cover price? For the day in question...

    Kudos to MMs

This is a summary I have since 9/2 for those that like to track using an average basis rather than treating each position as a discrete unit. Nitro, if I made any mistakes please let me know. Date Action Quant Price Position Basis Realized Gain/Loss 09/02/10...

    Acronis backup

I prefer using the Acronis image backup feature. An image backup contains the full disk image but is stored in a single file - I keep various dated versions of image backups (from multiple machines I backup) on a network storage device. You can restore an image to a blank drive fairly...

Since the ES DEC contract never hit 1133 does that mean the additional unit was not added or what, e.g. was this a limit order?

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

I like how you reply to the same post of mine twice, 20 minutes apart - shows you are really becoming unhinged. I never said AMD processors were better or worse than Intel's but I am knowledgeable enough to call someone out when they are spreading FUD about some applications not being able to...

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

Did you even bother to read the links you included? Random user comments, blog postings, a link to a story about AMD graphics issues (read: ATI) and the last link which reads "There's all the makings of a class-A debacle over at AMD headquarters, as it turns out that the chip maker's...

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

You have not provided one iota of evidence that there are any issues.

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

Websphere : http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27007250 There is the evidence that AMD is supported for Websphere. Where is the evidence that it is not supported?

Yawn.... lots of writing, lots of excuses, trying to change the subject but still not willing to back up what you said.

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

Blah blah blah....a bunch of posts about how you aren't going to explain again when one simple post listing the actual software incompatibilities would have proven your point....but you can't so you just keep repeating the same crap. I'm sure at your old job everyone thought you were Nick...

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

Just as I thought - when called on it you fold like a tent. Buh bye poser....don't let the door hit you on your way out. "micro code [sic]" differences - you crack me up!

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

Stop dodging the question - name the software incompatibilities.

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

I can't believe this clown is still spewing his misinformation: Hey rocket scientist, I've got news for you, there is different microcode between different intel processors as well. If AMD and Intel had the same microcode that would make the AMD an exact duplicate of the Intel processor...

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

It is clear from your "advice" that a good portion of those 25 years in enterprise IT was spent working at the help desk. Wait until you are running consistently beyond 70% cpu/memory before upgrading for a trading system?!? Please stop embarrassing yourself, your advice is better...

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

If the OP has a requirement for a 32-bit OS (because of compatibility issues) and needs more than 4GB of RAM then there is absolutely no reason not to consider running Windows Server. People need to get over their hang-ups about server vs desktop OS - the actual code differences (between...

Quad core doesn't support xp pro?

My point is if the OP wants to run a 32-bit OS with more than 4GB of RAM then the option is available. Its neither esoteric nor rare: machines with 32-bit OS and more than 4GB of RAM are common in enterprise environments.
