Trading smallcaps in premarket is just too risky. Spreads are large and movements are erractic. Plenty of weak hands turning dips into panic selling or form V shapes. A lot of traders are chasing stocks on news only for it to dump or make huge dips to scare them out of their mental stops...

What happens if you try to add liquidity? Since it doesn't fill right away does it get cancelled immediately?

With cash account there is no minimum deposit. You just won't get margin or live data feed which is a headache without a alternative platform.

Now that you mention this I believe it connects to platform as the settings require ip and api port. It even plays the same voice when you buy/sell and I think it requires you to login via TWS as well. Regardless, I have not noticed them being any slower than TWS maybe even faster.

Medved vs TWS feels like cardboard to brick stones imo. In taskbar, Medved takes up 230mb while TWS takes 1300 mb. Huge difference! For that reason they are srsly lacking in features.(For $20 a month can't expect much.) I haven't been trading long enough on IB to be really aware of the two...

Not SSR. At TZ there is a minimum price to short a stock yet there is no restriction to locate tickers that are priced below that and waste your locate fees for nothing. (Definitely broker related.) If CP is anywhere as dirty as TZ operates they will gladly profit out of your little mistakes...

Idk then. But even if you can find shares to borrow that doesn't necessarily mean you can go short. I got screwed before, located shares and got hit by price restriction.

Try to short it a while back when it was running between $7-$12. Same story. Zero locates.

TWS is already pretty fast execution minus all the annoyances like setting up your order, warning messages etc. I doubt a connection directly to IB will result in better execution. If it were true, that just be another blow to IB's already outdated and sloppy platform. Only way to know for...
