    Midnight rally

A comprehensive study by the Federal Reserve done last year on the overnight performance, they call it overnight drift (OD). ES futures avg market performance by time of day 1998 - present My notes from the Federal Reserve study: Pre-transaction costs, a trading strategy that goes long...

    Giant VIX options block-trades

Big VIX bet, maybe this trader knows something we don't. Days prior to 911 a relative of president Bush bought a huge position in Stratesec which provides security for United airlines, airports & the world trade center. The stock doubled on the first day the market reopened - lucky or well...

Investors Big and Small Are Driving Stock Gains With Borrowed Money

When everyone is all in & leveraged to the teeth look out below. My own thesis is the NDX100 needs to retest or print a slightly higher high before the indexes start to roll over.

Jamie Dimon talks about income inequality

Depending on your age this is what the median net worth looks like when you remove the ultra rich. 40% of Americans can not even cover an unexpected $400 expense.

Robinhood daytrader owes 800K to IRS on a profit of 45K

I think that 'substantially identical' is a grey area, it's still on the trader to determine that - not aware of any program that will. Here is a software that does the correct wash sales calculations, easy to use - it works. Their site has a lot of good info on wash sales...

Robinhood daytrader owes 800K to IRS on a profit of 45K

Importing the 1099 is not the problem, a lot of people are not using form 8949 with the corrected wash sales cost basis. This ends up costing them a bundle. _______________________________________________________________ Source: GreenTraderTax Most active traders make serious errors on income...

Robinhood daytrader owes 800K to IRS on a profit of 45K

He is using Turbo Tax which sucks for wash sales, it disallows them instead of adjusting the cost basis, it can be done but is not easy to figure out how to. He most likely imported his 1099 resulting in disallowing his wash sales. Because he trades a large volume of stocks having all of his...

Robinhood daytrader owes 800K to IRS on a profit of 45K

That article is grossly inaccurate & far from reality, you don't owe the IRS for you trading loses & I don't see any way they could dig very deep into his profits. Wash sales are a minor ding at worst in harvesting loses & at worst a minor ding on your profits - unless maybe you are trading...

can price action predict market moves

Well that can't be known with any certainty. So far so good, if the support around 12819 breaks it could be a fast & furious move down or we could see a big impulse move up - who knows? On trades like this I get to the bigger targets or close to it about 15% of all trades.

How fast is your internet connection speed ?

What's much more important to me is how reliable the Internet connection is. Using a multi WAN/load balancing router with auto-fail over, if my primary & secondary ISP are both down I will not even notice.

Counting bases O'Neill/Minervini daily or weekly?

Here is my own take on FCEL. I don't see any other bases that are well formed continuation patterns typically 4-26 weeks.

    Stimulus going into iPhones

I think the only real play on the cartels drug trade was or is Bitcoin. Transporting huge amounts of cash back into Mexico used to be their biggest problem - Bitcoin resolved that problem.

Ummm, maybe if it was 1957

The least educated account for nearly all the Covid19 job losses. Common sense dictates the only real recovery is to use the stimulus $ to provide vocational training for one of the many sectors that desperately need help. Otherwise the government is creating a permanent dependency that like...

    Stimulus going into iPhones

Living on Maui - but keep in mind the drug usage & overdoses in the Covid era is spiking off the charts coast-to-coast, even worse in the U.K. https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/national/experts-fear-stimulus-checks-could-be-linked-to-more-drug-overdoses

Ummm, maybe if it was 1957

Much of the 'Stimulus' checks are spent on street drugs. The drug cartels launder their profits into Bitcoin - which is why it went parabolic when the stimulus checks started.

    Stimulus going into iPhones

Dealers are reporting drug sales sky rocket to insane levels with each check. I would think many under 35ish are spending their checks on recreational drugs like: Weed, Heroin, Ice, Crack, & LSD.

    trading overnight futures?

The extended session lows when the market conditions are favorable for a big rally often print at the Japan or China open, or the Euro pre-open. I think Overnight has figured this out since he has the right times.

Do support and resistance work on indices?

Well everything else was not at a multi month resistance level offering a well defined risk level. Are you worried what ETFs are doing when your a riding a parabolic breakout - I sure don't. Your splitting hairs & missing the point which is trading S & R levels.

Do support and resistance work on indices?

Yes, trading based on how price & volume act at support/resistance can be very lucrative. There is a great deal of discretion involved that will come with experience, so start out small. The 3rd test of a key level can often trigger a big reaction. Failed breaks of S/R tend to make the...
