No human being would want to live there. A ‘disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess’.

Good info. It's crazy to think that Baltimore is a more dangerous place to live than some 3rd world countries that people are fleeing and seeking asylum from. It's also crazy to think of how dangerous some of our inner cities are in comparison to the rest of our country.

No human being would want to live there. A ‘disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess’.

Most asylum seekers claim to be trying to escape gang violence. Moving to the wrong side of Baltimore wouldn't help them much.

Likely market direction if the fed is fired?

That's an interesting question. The markets hate any type of disruption, but I think they would love a Fed chairman that would champion lower rates. So my best guess is that the move would be a net positive for the markets overall. All that being said, I doubt that Trump tries to fire Powell...

No human being would want to live there. A ‘disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess’.

Fixed it for you. If you want to find a rat & rodent infested area, just look for the lowest income area of a major population center. It doesn't have anything to do with race or ethnicity.

Trump just destroyed any hope of a trade deal. Bears, get ready.

Look on the bright side. Everyone expects the Fed to cut interest rates next week, and the talks are still moving forward. Hopefully you won't get burned too bad.

Trump signs a landmark immigration deal with Guatemala

I'm not sure. The official details of the agreement haven't been released yet. We'll have to see how this plays out in court. I'm sure it will probably be struck down at the lower levels, but I doubt it will be at the Supreme Court. They upheld the travel ban, so I can't see them striking this...

The Supreme Court rules Trump can use redirected $2.5B for wall

I guess the money needs to be spent by the end of September. So I assume construction will start quickly.

The Supreme Court rules Trump can use redirected $2.5B for wall

I'm not a big fan of it either. The separation of power is there for a reason. I just wish congress wasn't such a dysfunctional cluster. Border security and immigration reform should've been dealt with a long time ago.

Tell me why averaging down is a bad idea .

Scaling into a position with a defined stop isn't necessarily a bad thing, but adding to a losing trade in hopes that it will turn around is really stupid.

Opening a vanguard account for ETFs+TD Ameritrade for individual stocks?

Do some research to see which broker fits your needs the best. Tradezero & Robinhood offer commission free trading. IB & Lightspeed offer commissions starting at $1 per trade. TD Ameritrade has higher commissions, but their platform offers L2 data for free. So it's somewhat of a tradeoff. You...

The stricter the gun laws, the safer the children

In 2011 person A weighs 130 pounds and person B weighs 200 pounds. In 2015 person A still weighs 130 pounds and person B still weighs 200 pounds. A study would find that over a 5 year period that person A had a weight that was 35% lower than person B. But obviously there wasn't any reduction in...

The stricter the gun laws, the safer the children

Legal gun owners should definitely be held responsible in the event of negligence, but that's a slippery slope. You can't really hold someone responsible for a firearm that's been stolen. Vehicles kill a lot more people than guns. Can you imagine if we banned someone from driving if they had...

The stricter the gun laws, the safer the children

I'll agree in part. There are still some loopholes out there, and we need a better system in place for mental health. Most states have laws in place against selling firearms to the mentally ill, but this is difficult to enforce due to privacy laws. I'll disagree on moving the age to 21 to...
