Is it legal for IB to do this? Considering pressing a charge...

Since Ameritrade lets you trade options, I would imagine IB told you it's a policy of theirs when you were notified? If so, I can't imagine it being a legal issue. But if you really want to be with IB, could a friend, relative open an account, and give you legal permission to trade it...

    Trader P/L 2009

First trade in 2 days was getting long 1500 TRV on an MOC at 43.75. This might really suck. But, since the young daughter of a colleague of mine is in surgery as I write this, it's fairly easy to keep things in perspective. I'm much more concerned about her than potentially losing a...

Reversion To the Mean (RTM) Intraday Strategies

Thought I'd bump this thread to ask a quick q. How many of you have a method which automatically adjusts to volatility? Seems to me, if you're using a static number such as a percentage from the mean, you could get destroyed numerous days in a row in periods of high volatility, rather than...

POLL: What percentage of ET subscribers are loons?

To even consider trading for a living, doesn't one need to be somewhat crazy or deranged in the first place?

    Brokers are scum.

If you truly outperformed the market, then you deserved the fees you collected. But you must realize this is a real rarity in this business.

    Brokers are scum.

I've given up on arguing with friends who pay annual fees to advisors. Even very smart people just don't seem to get it. Another title idea: "I couldn't trade my way out of a wet paper bag, so now I convince people to to give 3% annually to Edward Jones, regardless of performance." A...

five prop firm pitfalls to avoid

Mostly good points, but I don't have a problem with putting up capital as long as payout = 100%. But then again, this probably comes down to the definition of prop firm vs pro firm.

Might be a sign that my account may get blown out. I would probably have to take the day off.

    Trader P/L 2009

Let me be the first to post an empty blotter. That's just the way it goes sometimes when you run an API on slow days. So the good news is that I'm not pushing a strat beyong it's limits when it's slow. But the bad news is that my gut is telling me there is much more growth which should be...

Your favourite Risk/Money management Book ?

Agreed. Although it's a stupid title, "Trade your way to financial freedom" has a great section on expectancy. All ya really need IMO.

what do you use to perdict the future?

I put my cat and my dog into to a cage every morning. If the dog wins - up that day. If the cat wins - down. Needless to say, the dog wasn't having very much fun in October.
