    Anything Good for Stock Trading?

Not sure about the exact numbers they are looking for. They didn't ask about sharp ratio or profit factor. I just showed consistent profitable results from other firms which have gone out of business. No courses. Courses you have to pay for are always a red flag for me. Just a platform...

For newbies: Moving averages as in indicator.

Many years ago, I ran a little experiment with coin flipping and a 20 period moving average while watching a movie. (No, I didn't have much of a life) I flipped it 1000 times and put the results on graph paper. I was amazed at how many times the graph precisely bounced off of the MA from 1000...

    Anything Good for Stock Trading?

T3 and Hold Brothers. I'm with Hold. No silly and expensive required courses. Just had to show a track record, get my 57, make a deposit, and I get a ridiculous amount of leverage which I never come close to using. I pay .003 per share. My trading style consists of around 50/50 taking and...

    Price spikes at 8:00 AM.

    Gotcha. Thanks. I should've done a search.

    Price spikes at 8:00 AM.

The NMCES is open from 4:00AM to 8:00PM, and anyone with access to ECNs can trade during those hours. The ADF is open from 8:00AM to 6:30PM, and there are low volume price spikes all over the place at the ADF open. However, the ADF is a display only facility, and the FINRA website states there...

Can a market order be matched by another market order

I read all of the responses. Maybe 2 two somewhat simultaneous orders with +100ms latency? But honestly, I don't understand either.

How do you know when your strategy stop being profitable vs a short drawdown period?

Thank you so much for your input. Meanwhile, you didn't ask a damn thing in regards to the original post. But thank you for taking the time to criticize the questions from people who actually give a shit. I actually care about this because I am going through a similar situation.

How do you know when your strategy stop being profitable vs a short drawdown period?

It's been a strange few weeks. I've been stuck in so many halts, my head is spinning. I'm confident in my strategy over the long run, but I am trading very small right now. Are you confident in your strategy? Does it make sense? Could you explain it to your grandmother in just a few words...

Cash Secured Put 6.5% vs Covered Call 44.8% Return on UAVS

Sorry. I was trying to quote Ironchef. I need to brush up on my ET typing skills.

Cash Secured Put 6.5% vs Covered Call 44.8% Return on UAVS

I agree, but that is why Guru said "cash secured". Why not just sell 10 puts on a 15 dollar stock if you have 15k in your account. Why pay the double commissions on a covered call. It's exactly the same.

Cash Secured Put 6.5% vs Covered Call 44.8% Return on UAVS

Yes. Options Trading - The Hidden Reality is the best book I have read on options. It explains synthetics and equivalents beautifully. Covered calls just don't make sense IMO.

Do market makers hedge before or after options expire when selling options?

That is fantastic. Teachers don't always have to suck, either. Good for you! Edit: I'm a bit biased because my mom was a reading teacher, and I think teachers are heroes. But I still think what you did was fantastic.

Do market makers hedge before or after options expire when selling options?

Way off topic, but around a hundred years ago, I used to go to the Minneapolis Grain exchange on my lunch breaks and watch the action from the balcony. I applied for an internship and got it, but I turned it down for an internship on a MM desk. I'm not sure it matters, since I trade in my...

Do market makers hedge before or after options expire when selling options?

I've posted this before, but it's been a while. I was in a group about 15 years ago, and we used to like to average in and out of stocks. We called it Layering, but Finra has a different definition of layering and we didn't do that. For instance, we loved averaging in and out of GS, and we...

Do market makers hedge before or after options expire when selling options?

They will normally buy stock to hedge their short calls and remain delta neutral to collect theta. Vice versa for short put positions.

What's the best book on corruption that you've read

Den of Thieves is fantastic. I read it in college when I should have been studying. Couldn't put it down.

Comagnum, you have provided some excellent information on this thread. As have others. Thank you so much.

What routes do you guys (and gals) use?

Out of the novel my firm sent me as far as routing options are concerned, there are 8 IEX options, and none of them offer rebates for providing liquidity. Could you further explain the advantages you have experienced? I must add that I don't trade large blocks. I rarely trade more than 1000...

What routes do you guys (and gals) use?

That's what I'm assuming. And my commissions are so low, they are insignificant. I just browse over my statements to check for fees. I was with T3 a long time ago, and I noticed I was getting charged an extra $3.00 per trade, on top of very high monthly fees. I called them on it and they...
