    Getting a new dog today.

Oh, how I know how it feels. They left me in the room with him for as long as I wanted, and I wasn't done crying for at least 5 minutes. It took me another couple of minutes to gather myself and thank the staff before I left.

TradeZero (ZeroFree) disables the stop price field

No problem at all. Again, welcome to ET. We're a family of sorts. We bicker nonsensically most of the time, but we are still here to help each other.

    Getting a new dog today.

It's been over 3 years since my lab passed away. I will never forget how horrible the day was when he had to be put down. He was 15, and I had him for 13 years. I love dogs, but I have been reluctant to get another one, because I was avoiding the pain of losing him/her. But I got a FB...

Can I long and short simultaneously ?

That's exactly why we used to do it. It is strictly forbidden now. That being said, you can hold a stock in an IRA or 401k for the long term, and short it as a day trader, and that's not an issue. If your long term account is not a retirement account, It's honestly getting wishy washy, and...

Can I long and short simultaneously ?

Ok, I guess there are a few different ways to use "box" nowadays. I was referring to shorting in one account and being long in another. And I originally thought that's what the OP was getting at.

Can I long and short simultaneously ?

Hello again Robert. Isn't shorting the box illegal nowadays? Or am I missing something? We used to do it all of the time in the olden days to avoid the uptick rule.

TradeZero (ZeroFree) disables the stop price field

Thanks, but I'm not concerned about it. Mine is a pure prop account. Everything will be fine at 4AM tomorrow (I'm up pretty early every day, but not that early). If you're in a position and you're trying to put orders in on a Saturday, you probably shouldn't be trading prop. Maybe you are...

TradeZero (ZeroFree) disables the stop price field

Oh, for crying out loud. I thought he was trying to send a stop-limit order for some reason. I've only been at this for 25 years. Maybe another 5, and I'll be able to give advice on basic order entry. But even though he has GTC set on his platform, he wanted to send a DAY order according to...

TradeZero (ZeroFree) disables the stop price field

Probably house rules. I tried in my prop account just out of curiosity, and it wouldn't let me send any orders at all. Just got an error message. But prop is different from retail.

TradeZero (ZeroFree) disables the stop price field

1 post? Welcome to ET. I don't use tradezero, but just out of curiosity, does it allow you enter a price if you change the order type to market? There is a TZ rep who is on here occasionally. I'm sure he'll see this and will be able to help.

What is your most profitable trading strategy?

It used to be automated mean reversion (fading volume spikes). Now it's just very short term basic technical analysis on the crazy stocks of the day, while paying attention to longer term support an resistance levels.

    Trading as an art form

Good day today on the put side today, Dustin? I don't to assume so just because the /NQ had such a rough day, but I hope it was good.

Option price question. Why the $7.50s and $10,00s so close.

Great answer. Also, temporary volume spikes are extremely common right now because everyone thinks they might be jumping on the next meme stock. When the stock starts coming back down they have to bail, and the options sellers see this coming, so the supply for calls on the sell side are high...

    Undertrading vs Overtrading.. your thoughts?

I was with a firm many years ago where trailing stops were absolutely forbidden. For good reason. I will never use one again.

    Undertrading vs Overtrading.. your thoughts?

A balance between the two has worked for me over the last 20 years. Edit: Yes I've been at this for 25, but I really really sucked for the first 5.

    How to fix stupid?

He can't help himself. But he actually asked some tough but fair questions in my strategy building thread.

    Trading as an art form

Another question, Dustin. Are you mainly concentrating on long puts based on relative weakness while avoiding the call side? It would make sense because of implied volatility crush if you try to catch a breakout or a bounce. Or am I over thinking it?
