Apply for GS FICC desk in Chicago. I have a few friends from UC that now work there.
Also apply for a S&T program at all the BB.
I was in the energy program at a BB and it helped open a lot of doors.
I took and passed Level I then left my investment management job for an energy trading role. I am no longer taking any more CFA exams. While the exam is tough it is passable. What makes it unbearable for many is studying on top of 50-70 hour work weeks.
