How do market makers hedge their exposure?

i love this sort of high-faluting mentalism. ultimately machines crash and burn when they are expected to act like people. go electronic, but keep the pits nearby.

i read that at one time, and this was before the derivatives explosion, the main driver of IBM share volume was options market makers hedging (back when IBM was a big thing).

Gold is going to correct further, yes or no?

interesting. the markets are attempting to price unprecedented demand for materials, unprecedented supply of money and credit, and all the risk that comes along with it. Anything could happen. "unprecedented" is used figuratively.

    Post FOMC Market Action

i agree with this in my gut -- inflation has more momentum than is being recognized, imho; but, too, i could see this dollar blowing down to the lows too...after the last three weeks, anything is possible.

    Post FOMC Market Action

although I hope to be flat by 2:15, I'm thinking, tough talk in addition to the requisite 1/4 point; sell off anyway -- a washout, initiating the 30-50% retracement due for the dollar.... ...or just a straight-ahead $ rally. washout would be preferred, setting up buying opportunities...

    George Gilder 1990s guru revealed.

Which, being translated, means: Anyone who's idealogically conservative is "rigid;" and who knows, probably a charlatan and a moron to boot. Every viewpoint you have ascribed to Gilder here is sound. Right on point, Vehn, with the Party.
