As I mentioned before in this forum, since 2001, I've worked on developing a proprietary volatility trading model that looks at behavior, velocity, duration, and the size of price movements. I don't use TA or indicators. The only other chart I use in my research is the VIX. Everything else is...

Well, I was hoping to see the spoos touch 1412 -1409 by midday, but the most I could get out of it is 1414.75 (for now). so I dumped 2 of my puts that I purchased yest. and added six 1410 Call options with an average price on those at 9.78. I also bought one 1420 call. Also in the last hour, I...

Lol, sometimes, I don't even know who Tarek is. I can be wild and volatile as the market, and sometimes I'm loving and gentle as a panda bear. In fact, they should've called me Tarek the Volatile. I'm just an ordinary guy with an extraordinary passion about trading the markets, the Tarek's way...

Oh god, not the t-day theory again. Pleeeeease. Keep your theories to yourself "guru" and for once, put on some REAL trades. You're still looking for 1402 tomorrow - with a high prob??? 'cause b1s2 may not like it.

Yes they do. Exiting them tomorrow could get tricky as I've seen many times the bid/ ask just vanish. So, I'll be crossing my fingers. But I'm hopeful that someone will take them off my hands. Breakeven on them is at 1418.5 s&p equivalent.

Nice trade b1s2. I forgot who it was, but someone said yesterday that "there's a high probability for the SP to see 1402 between yesterday and tomorrow" :D Well, I guess it might still happen.

Purchased 2 more puts - one at 11 and the other at 8.5 . I'm gonna hold on to them till tomorrow . Because I owned several May 1400 Calls from last week (sorry, I don't have a screen shot to show the purchase date for those), they helped cushion the current 3.5 point drawdown on those puts...

Prevail, Be careful shorting options at these low VIX levels. Not prudent, unless you know what you're getting into. The market can rally AND I.V. can go up with it, thus leaving you in a precarious position.

It's nice, but you don't have too. I take your word for it :D

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

The only reason why I like this short (but not quite comfortable) is because the VIX is sitting at a very low level and at support. But...

    $1.81 per option 1 way.

First unit of shorts entered near 1418 using the 1430 May Puts. I'm getting a delta of 75 relative to the sp contract for a mere 700 bucks...cheap.

Crude oil is coming down and that's perhaps what's helping the market today. Thus, Stops are critical on a short today as the market could accelerate beyond yesterday's highs later in the day.

Nice try Tommy. I like your tenacity. I'm looking to short in the 1418 - 1420 zone with a stop just above yesterday's highs.

    If I buy a Put

No it is not. The maximum profit you can make when buying a put is the difference between the current stock price and Zero minus the premium you paid for the Put. However, when selling a Call, you're max. profit is limited to the premium collected.

Look, why don't we just put this to rest for now, as it's getting late and the wifey is calling for some attention :D Tomorrow is another day and another conquest in the S&P. My trades today were option trades in the s&p futures options that were part of a straddle and were irrelavent to post...
